I know there were rumors about us using our first to get him if we signed Manning. Thoughts?

Do it! Young and you can't get a better receiver in the 1st for our draft position. Could you imagine Wallace, Thomas, Decker and Clark. Money.

I would do it if it were me. He is still quite young and a true deep threat, which this team is missing and looking who is there at #25, doubtful to find someone who can make an impact soon like he can.

Schefter just said on Cowherd's radio show that this scenario is not very likely. He said the Broncos have Thomas and Decker and other receivers "that the Broncos and Manning are happy with". Also said that Denver sees Wallace and Thomas as similar pieces (which I don't necessarily agree with), and that Wallace would cost too much for Denver's liking...

Man, if DT can stay healthy this really could be an amazing combo

Its unlikely, but I'm sure Wallace would listen now and we could easily structure enough front end money to cock block the Steelers.

Bowlen needs to spend the money to make it happen though.

Our need for receiver did just skyrocket and the FA pool is more or less empty.

Would be an immediate impact player for sure, I don't know if we'll be willing to pay him what he wants though.

This. Add in another solid running back (I still want Bush) through FA or the draft, and the offense is pretty solid.

And if Elway can turn Tebow into a first so that we can draft a MLB/CB/DT, this will be the best offseason in a long time.

Mike Wallace for the # 25 pick in the first round as he was tendered as a 1st round RFA. Easy choice, sign him. Helps the Broncos and hurts the Steelers. AWESOME!

Yes, please. And Clark.
Like others have said,

Manning, Demaryius, Decker, Clark, Wallace, Julius Thomas= :welcome:

Pittsburgh has around 2.5mil in cap space iirc. They could probably free up a bit more space if they are intent on keeping him (but they'd probably lose Brown next year as a result), but for the Broncos to get him, they'll probably have to give a lot of up-front bonus cash so that the Steelers can't match. It would also cost a first round pick unless the Broncos trade the Steelers for his rights.

I rather save our first round pick for defense. Manning makes any receiver look good.

If we could some how give a 2nd round pick, I would do it.

The Broncos have a pretty low first anyway, and a definite need at receiver. They are going to get something in return for Tebow, possibly another first, mitigating the cost. I'm okay with signing Wallace either way though.

If it's for a CB or LB, sure. If a DT, likely not ready to play like most rookie DT's it seems, and can easily get a DT just as good in the 2nd round, then no thanks.

What about maybe drafting LaMichael James if he slides does'nt he catch the ball pretty well

I think Wallace is a no-brainer at this point.

I mean lets think about this: Wallace is a stud. He's the real deal, and he's 25. Blowing the top off a defense when you have the smartest QB to ever play the game dissecting things underneath? You can't put a value on that. And if DT keeps growing as a player, you don't want to single up a guy with that body.

This should really happen.

How about, trading down in the first round. Pick up some additional picks and still land Wallace. Not sure of the trade value chart?
Win, win ...que no?

Exactly this....

Manning makes wrs, not the other way around. He made guys like garcon and gonzales look like studs and stokley and wayne look like pro bowlers.

Just let manning work with our core, and add defense and run attack to his arsenal.

God, Bowlen is soooo cheap ;D

But, seriously, I'm not shocked that they don't want to put a big contract into WR when they have two guys they like. No doubt they'll probably add someone, but there are enough other holes and thin areas to spend the rest of the $ on.

I'll say it, again. WR is NOT a need. Do not give up the first-round pick for this guy...

No way, you use the 1st for a huge lineman. Offense or Defense.

Wayne, Harrison, Gonzalez, Dallas Clark....all first rounders. Its not like our old running back turnstile
