Schefter on espn says just now the broncos have a free agent plan in place now that manning is in the fold. First step: sign vet colt center Jeff Saturday. Elway told Manning the team will get Saturday. And Schefter says the Broncos will trade Tebow.

Must be considering Dallas Clark as well, considering we put up no fight with Fells leaving.

Yep, Saturday replaces Walton and Clark becomes the starter at TE. Maybe can get lucky and deal Walton for a later pick and draft a future center.

Also Ryan Diem, still UFA from Colts at OG.
And hire Tom Moore as offensive consultant

I like the Saturday signing if and when it happens. He's a team leader type (very instrumental from the player's side in the lockout settlement last year). Never really was sold on Walton though j.d. could be good depth.

I know we have need at DT, CB and MLB, but if we can, we should get Wallace for 1st. For a quick thrower like Peyton, he needs good receivers as much as OL.

Why wouldn't we keep Walton and develop him as our backup C and swing G?

He's young, he's smart, he just needs real coaching. Saturday is good but he's old. We need interior line depth bad as it is.

Saturday is pretty old....even if he loses his job, I would think his hire even as a coach would the absolute right move. The O-line has a lot to learn and practice by opening day. I don't envy the work these guys are going to have to put in over the upcoming months.

Stokley's carpark audition may just have won him a job for camp.

Maybe the Broncos don't think he is that good.

Agree. This would finally give us some depth on the line. Would be foolish to move him at this point.

We should definately trade Walton. He deserves a chance to go somewhere else where he won't be undercut when the Broncos bring in somebody better.

How can he possibly trust the team when they pull moves like this?

Signing a HOF QB is a bad move?

Saturday is old, blah blah blah. He plays frickin center.

Sign him.

I don't recall anyone promising Walton the chance to be the starter going into camp and then re-negging on that promise as soon as the chance arose.

Walton is young, he's got a lot of football ahead of him. At worst he's solid depth on an OL that desperately needs it. He should be retained and groomed behind Saturday.

no, signing an aging veteran to replace our youngster.
