Making backup QBs with no experience look good is a lucrative business.

Ok, Alex Smith might be coming in for a lookie here. AS we wait on a possible QB to take over for Tebow....

I find it hilarious that this is basically the exact same contract SF offered Alex Smith.

That actually doesn't seem like too bad of a deal. I figured he'd land more than that.

I bet the Kolb contract actually made it harder for Flynn's agent.

Yeah, that's kind of a small contract. For those blowing up about Flynn getting paid off of "one game," he was considered the league's top back up before that game, and the contract he just got is below average for a starter. I almost wish the Niners would have nabbed him for that price. Seattle has a shot at being fairly decent next year.

and of course if we strike out on Manning and Tebow really does demand a trade, this would've been a fantastic deal for us. I have no idea why Flynn's agent did wait for the Manning fall out to drive up the price a little. Even if Flynn didn't want to be here, money talks.

So lets see.....

Manning to SF

Alex Smith to Miami

Tebow ????

Denver has Weber....

Who sucks the most?

Besides Weber's 51 INTs at Minnesota, he wasn't that bad. :puff:

also Tebow would be dumb as hell to demand a trade at this point. there is not a single team in the NFL with a need at QB if Manning goes to SF and Smith to Miami. here, he would start.

How hilariously sad will it be if Peyton signs elsewhere and we wind up trading Tebow and giving a 5 year deal to Alex Smith.

And then Alex Smith turns back into the small-handed, sack magnet, int-throwing bust that he was from 2005-2010.

Must people around here would be ok with that, cause it means that Tebow is gone.......even though we suck more.

I'm sure you're getting fitted for your XXXXXXL Pink Brady Quinn Chef jersey as we speak.

We're only a day or 2 away from Elway saying to all of us that tebow is "our guy". Then tebow will say none of this bothered him. Then we go 5-11 next year.

hopefully Miami signs Smith and leaves Harbaugh having to spend the dough to sign Manning. Then Tenn and Denver have to go up too. Maybe thats why Paymeaton is waiting...to see just how high he can get this thing up to?

Maybe he really can't make up his mind...but the delay is to his benefit...and his agent knows that.

That's actually about where I think the contract should be. I thought someone would overpay, but that's not crushing money.

Improvement would be utilizing a huge cap space to fill many many holes on this team.

uhhh no... but it sure would help. I just don't understand why we didn't attack the DE, WR and DT position in FA. We need a #3 even if Peyton doesn't come here... and DT... well I only think we have 2 on the roster right now...

One of which hasnt even played in over 2 years. After manning saga if we still see no action then it's strictly the draft. And that's only cause they have to.

So then we sign crap to compete with crap and lose the season away and draft Barkely next year.

I don't think you understand why Tebow probably wants out. I would imagine he feels like he hasn't be dealt with in an honest and honorable manner. To guy like Tebow that's more important than whether or not he's going to be a starter on any given team.

Looking at the way things are playing out I fully expect this to be a possibility. With no Manning or Tebow, and no meaningful signings, we are going to be dreadful beyond words.

So either Tebow is the biggest competitor in the NFL, or he "isn't wired like an NFL QB" and does not place much value on whether or not he plays.

Which is it?

wow, thought he'd get more actually. i figured some dumb team would give him 5 years at 10+ mil per easy.

the Seahawks finally have a QB again after the nonsense they tried the previous few seasons on Whitehurst and Jackson. this allows them not to reach in the draft and address other areas, like TE,WR,OL & etc.

I must have missed the season Seattle went to the playoffs with him at QB or the seasons when he was a starter for the Vikings and made the playoffs there. He turns 29 next month and beginning his 7th season and still hasn't shown he's a starting QB in the NFL.

Or he turns in a 90.7 QB rating , manages the game very well, rarely turning the ball over......

He's had the same OC in consecutive seasons once in his career, 3 HC's, and has battled injuries too....

Considering those obstacles, one could argue he's not as bad as you would have us think.
