http://2012.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/03/wisconsin-republican-targeted-in-recall-resigns-from-state-senate.php?ref=fpa

Wisconsin state Sen. Pam Galloway (R) is resigning from the chamber today, citing a family health situation. Galloway was one of the targeted incumbents in upcoming recall elections.

This also means that as of now, the Republicans have officially lost their Senate majority, leaving the chamber split 16-16. The recall elections to come will determine who takes the majority.

along with walker,4 other reps getting recalled,I believe.

I've decided to put the needs of my family first," Galloway said. "My family has experienced multiple, sudden and serious health issues, which require my full attention.

I will say it doesn't surprise me to see you miss the point.

The story fails to note that Sen. Dale Schutlz (R-Dist 17) has already broken with the GOP on several recent issues, including using new redistricting for the recalls. Schultz is a moderate Republican, a vanishing breed, and one who is not afraid to speak out against GOP arrogance and lockstep nonsense.

With Sen. Schultz's vote no longer guaranteed the GOP, the split in the state now shifts to the Dems, even prior to the recalls. There are opportunities throughout the land for similar moderates to step forward as the high water mark has apparently been reached.
Excellent news! Getting rid of another the radical Right Wing lawmaker majority is great news!!

Pay close attention, no one I seen here is cheering an "illness".

BTW, what exactly is the reason she drug up her job under a recall that was going to oust her anyway?

BS i bust chops when i see fit, and the same gets done to me. Thats what we do here. I could care less what political party you think you belong to. You don't by the way, if it was really something you belonged to you would have a say in something.

There is no difference between dems and repubs except where a small % of the money goes. I usually lean to the repubs because they cause less stupid red tape when it comes to making money.

Below is her explanation for quitting...

Galloway, a controversial Republican (http://www.wausaudailyherald.com/article/20120319/WDH0101/203190396/Pam-Galloway-would-won-recall-election) from Wausau, spoke publicly about her decision to leave the Senate after she made the surprise announcement Friday. Her resignation was effective at midnight Saturday.

Galloway's father-in-law in Illinois and her brother in Virginia both face long-term, serious health problems, she said, and she decided she no longer could fulfill the demands of her office and care for them at the same time.
