Not so fast. EmpireOrange's insiders tell him that its only a personal workout, not a signing. Since he has been banned from OM because the mods are a bunch of Teboners, I have been authorized to relay this message by EmpireOrange.

Stay tuned for more insider information.

PS. the 10% ownership rumor is a bunch of bs, but Titians are a real threat. Tenn is a money play, and Denver is a legacy play for Manning. Chances are Denver wins out, but Tenn drives up the price on 7.

Actually.. now looking at the report that Manning called the Dolphins last night to tell them they where out of the race this must be either 2 things... 1. This is a throwing session just like Manning said he would work out for the serious finalist, or 2, This is a last pitch effort by Elway to get him.

A workout is great and all, but the reality is no one can know how much or how many hits Manning has left and nol workout is going to measure that. I would think the Broncos know by now, from Stokley if nothing else, if Manning can still make all the throws he needs to be successful or not.

nope... but the workout would address the strength concerns that are out there. Anyway... if it were a done deal... word would have leaked from on of the other teams in the running. With the latest development that this is a workout... where does this leave ARI? They have to cut Kolb by 4pm today... and so far... if this is a workout... we are the only team attending it.

If the workout speculation is true... it probably means he meets and works out today for us, and tomorrow for the Titans...making his decision on Sunday! Bastard!!! I can't take this for 3 more days!!!

And yeah, I know the first visit was a feeling out process for Manning, but all this drama could have been avoided by having a throwing session when he first visited, even a mini one at the least so both sides didn't waste so much time. Because what if the Broncos were to find out today that Manning can not make all of the throws and would have been waiting for something they ultimately don't want? Maybe Manning is wanting and loving this attention, but I think it should have been handled differently. This reaks of kissing Manning's butt to do whatever he asks and he might still tell you no. He better be worth all of this is.

If that is the case, he probably told Denver, just like he told Miami last night, that Tenn had made him an offer too good to refuse, but gave Denver one last chance to win this since it would seem he prefers Denver over Tenn. That is the reason they loaded for bear to go down there. That is my guess anyway. If he was ours, they would have just sent the jet to pick him up, no need to take the entire FO in that case.

Clay Travis and his Titans source are just saying the same things Klis/Lombardi are hearing from their guys on Denver's side. Neither has anything concrete, but a plane full of guys heading to a workout in Raleigh is a tip to the Broncos side.

Seeing Titans people calling this a "desperate" move. But calls from the governor, contracts for life, 10% stake and free pancakes from Shoneys aren't desperate?

If that is the case, he probably told Denver, just like he told Miami last night, that Tenn had made him an offer too good to refuse, but gave Denver one last chance to win this since it would seem he prefers Denver over Tenn. That is the reason they loaded for bear to go down there. That is my guess anyway. If he was ours, they would have just sent the jet to pick him up, no need to take the entire FO in that case.

Or, to be sure about his health - like testdriving a car - you want to take that last spin before sitting down with the numbers.

Disagree.

They're going to work him out. Nobody has worked him out yet. They're taking their medical people. MAYBE the Titans gave him a physical, but that's it.

If anything, we're neck and neck, but if he decided on Tennessee, he wouldn't have told Denver to come, bring their contract people, bring their coaches for a workout, and bring the doctors for a physical. That plane never would have left Centennial.

This is great news if you are a Broncos fan unless you only pull for us because of Tebow. I wish him but nothing but the best either way but this is Peyton.

There is no doubt in my mind the entourage wouldn't be in route to the triangle of North Carolina right down the road from me to give one last sales pitch "if" he is working out for them. The fact that the medical staff is traveling also, only strengthens our chances. From all reports, he looks great so my instincts are all pointing at us signing one of the greatest QB's to ever play the game by weekend's end. Not only is he great, but he is going to be extra focused and playing with a chip on his shoulder. Come on down Peyton!

This is the part I find funny. What are the chances that any of these jokers would ever actually fail him? Seriously. Could you imagine being the one guy who tries to get in the way of this signing, after everything that's gone into it, even if you felt really strongly about your medical opinion? Unless Manning shows up in a wheel chair, he's getting a passing grade.

If Manning were healthy and still playing at the level at which they are accustomed to seeing him, do you think they would even consider taking Luck? They probably wouldn't be in that number 1 spot, but they would have no reason to even consider a QB in the first round.

Interesting segment by Maylock on NFL Network. Suggests that all reports say that Manning looks good in short workouts, but question remains about whether he can still hold up after fatigue sets in. People serious about signing him should want to see a "pro-day" type workout.

Assuming he works out, Maylock suggests Broncos go after Mike Wallace (RFA) who would cost them their 1st round pick (but only #25 overall). Plus Dallas Clark.

Healthy Manning throwing to Wallace, Thomas, Decker and Clark, could put up some serious points.

Only to finish the rest of the season, then after they classlessly said he was too hurt to stay on the roster. Plus, their decision didn't have a $20 million roll of the dice attached to it.

Luck could be their QB for the next 12 to 15 years. Even if Manning is healthy, you're looking at four years max. Plus, the team is old and tattered. If you're going on a rebuild from the ground up (which is what they're doing) you do it with the QBOTF.

Not true.

They tried trading him AFTER the season (in March 2007), said he was 100% healthy according to their doctors. As the trade was almost completed, the Giants' medical staff failed him.

Yes. The contract was the key. They wanted and needed him to renegotiate it. He wouldn't.

Although, again, IF as you say "he had a Manning year", there's no way they'd be looking at the #1 overall pick anyway.

If Manning was healthy, but they somehow still finished to get that to pick, I would expect to trade that pick and get many draft picks and players to rebuild the team. I woulnd't see the Colts, or any team, in that position drafting a QB if they still felt they had a franchise QB still there since obviously that team would have shown there is a serious lack of talent and a another QB would not help as much as many picks and players could.

I think that's a marginal consideration, if it's anywhere near the consideration process.

Honestly, if Hasselbeck was a long-term member of the Titans, it might be something he considered. But they just picked him up last year, it's not like he's the face of the franchise.

No I guess he isn't. And there are reports that it will be an open competition with Locker. It just seems odd that if they are friendly, Peyton wouldn't try not to unseat another veteran quarterback. I mean, it is kind of a dick move if you have other options.

How is this a question at all? It's obvious why they released him. You can't keep Luck and Manning on the same roster (money-wise). What MIGHT have happened is neither here nor there. What happened is they ended up with the #1 pick. Ergo, either Manning takes a huge pay cut, or leaves the team. Make no mistake.. he was going no matter what. They did not want him around for 4 more years. They want to move on with their next franchise QB. You don't keep a Luck benched for 3 or 4 years. Was never going to happen.

His being released had nothing at all to do with his health. Personally, I feel the Colts once they started losing games, didn't try very hard to win many more. As such, I can't help but want Luck to fail. I don't think it's right the best looking QB since Manning himself, goes back to that team. Maybe it's fate after losing Elway like they did. Still, I want them to suffer for blowing games and getting Luck. ;D

I don't think Luck will do badly though, he really is the real deal. However, they completely tore apart their team. He may move on after the end of his contract, if it looks like years of failing with that team. Perhaps karma for us losing our own developing QBs will take effect, and we'll pick up Luck after Manning is done. :wiggle:
