Eric Winston, one of, if not the top RT's in the game has just been released.

"So, that's kind of weird, considering the Texans might lose starting center Chris Myers and starting right guard Mike Brisiel to unrestricted free agency. Which I'm sure makes Matt Schaub, coming off his season-ending injury, feel better about 2012."

That's 3 out of 5 from a ****ing nasty OL that runs Broncos style zone blocking that Elway loves.

We have lots of monies.

Winston turns 29 this season.

Myers and Brisiel are also UFA's.

Let's not forget btw that Ryan Harris is back with us and when healthy was also one of the top RT's in the game...when healthy is big when it comes to him though.

Keeping that OL should be priority one for them.

Well, one would think with Elway calling the shots he may have a little input into what the OL we're drafting should be most proficient in. He's trying to go back to Broncos football. That was Zone Blocking.

I think they're mixing man and zone. I think most teams are these days. It seems most teams are going for versatility.

Denver runs a zone blocking scheme, it doesn't cut block the back side like Gibbs/Dennision/Shanahan do but it is zone blocking.

He's 6'7" and 302, so that's not your prototypical zone blocker size.

Tell that to Houston.

Don't forget, we had Eric Pears here under Shanahan. He was like that.

Zimmerman was 6-6 295/300
Clady is 6-6 315

So he is in line with tackle positions.

We ran a mixture of it under Josh McDaniels. The split ended up being something like 100% not zone blocking, and 0% zone blocking. I always admired him for his steadfast demand that we not scrap a system that was working.
