Just talked to a reliable source in KC -- the Chiefs aren't out of it either. Productive meetings between KC and Peyton's people.

Meh. This is PR save face time in KC. They need to look like they weren't completely blown off. Pioli has a PR disaster on his hands as it is, so the best thing he can do is tell everybody and anybody who will listen that deep behind the scenes, Peyton Manning is actually listening to them - even if he won't come visit.

TJ has a good point, but I was wondering why the Chiefs weren't big players in this from the get go. They have a fairly decent team in terms of talent (not near the Broncos or Cardinals, but better than the Dolphins), but they also have a ton of cap money.

Read this story:

This should give you a good idea of why Peyton Manning won't be visiting the Chiefs any time soon.

Agreed. Until he flies to KC, not a chance in hell, they're out. Can't say I'm surprised.

It's definitely the worst case scenario for Bronco fans. I'd be okay with him signing in Tennessee, Miami, Seattle, Arizona.. just not KC. Overall, I'd be surprised if he signed with the Chiefs tho.

I'm just glad that Manning said he wants to make decision quickly. Hopefully we only have to endure 2 days more of this and then we will know. Sort of just over these high drama offseasons though.

Remember this (http://www.orangemane.com/BB/showthread.php?t=76195&highlight=Pioli)?

It's like the more things change, the more they stay the same.

That makes two of us.

Just one offseason where it's quiet, we sign some needed FA's and have a good draft with a clear idea of where the team is and where they are going.

Its been 14 years since that has been true.

Schefter was adamant this morning that Manning will not be visiting any more teams, he says he'll meet with the Dolphins but not at their facilities. Says Denver and Arizona are in front of the pack with the Broncos the favourites to get him.

Are all Chiefs "reporters" (use that term very loosely) clones of Nick Athan and Clayton Wendler?
