That's a shame. Just last week he was screaming a drunken tirade at Occupy protesters calling them "Rapists" and "Murderers." Just goes to show you. You never know how much time you have left.

(Breitbart's father-in-law was Orson Bean. Haven't heard that name in quite some time!)

He is in a better place and now, so are we.

As somebody else said, "You should speak good of the dead. He's dead. Good."

Andrew Breitbart's Dinner With Bill Ayers (http://chicagoist.com/2012/03/01/andrew_breitbarts_dinner_with_bill.php)

Andrew Breitbart (left), with Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn (center) and Tucker Carlson (right). Image via Breitbart.tv

Judging from the comments on Gothamist's post on the death of Andrew Breitbart (http://gothamist.com/2012/03/01/andrew_breitbart_right_wing_muckrac.php), people are making exception to the adage to not speak ill of the dead.

While you're doing that, we want to let you know of a dinner Breitbart recently had with Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn at their Hyde Park residence Super Bowl Sunday. Conservative pundit Tucker Carlson, editor-in-chief of The Daily Caller (http://dailycaller.com/), won a December online auction for a dinner party with the couple (http://dailycaller.com/2011/12/18/tucker-carlson-wins-online-auction-for-dinner-with-bill-ayers/). Carlson donated $2,500 to the Illinois Humanities Council (http://prairie.org/) for the chance to dine with them.

Carlson used the dinner party as an opportunity to solicit questions from his readers to ask Ayers (http://dailycaller.com/2012/01/24/daily-caller-contest-offers-chance-to-grill-bill-ayers/) and even posted the menu of the dinner (http://dailycaller.com/2012/02/06/text-of-menu-from-thedcs-dinner-with-bill-ayers-and-bernadine-dohrn/).

Carlson also brought along Breitbart. (For what you may think of the man, give him this much credit: he was willing to meet and argue with people who were his ideological opposites. He can't get much further opposite than Ayers and Dohrn.)

In the video below from Mediaite (http://www.mediaite.com/tv/andrew-breitbart-on-dinner-with-bill-ayers-hes-a-sociopath-and-a-great-chef/), Breitbart calls Ayers "a sociopath," but raved about his hosting skills and cooking.

"It's intoxicating," Breitbart said. "This is one of the ways they're able to indoctrinate young impressionable people."

Yes, readers, being a good host and knowing how to prepare an amazing dinner is un-American. Let the conspiracy theories about how the dinner party may have slowly poisoned Breitbart commence.

C'mon, Dom...you know better than that. It's not merely that he had a "different political ideology." It's that he was a dispicable, hateful individual who intentionally tried to goad people and even ruin lives. If George Will dropped dead tomorrow, he would get plenty of sympathy and well wishes, because he's a gentleman and not a pathological liar. You reap what you sow.

Oh, I understand the logic of disliking him - maybe even hating him. I guess I am a moderate Republican. But I don't like people like that, on either side of the political fence.

I just can't personally go that far. I have felt indifferent about some people, when they died. I totally felt that way about Falwell, since someone mentioned him. I didn't feel the world was a worse place when he died - his overall contribution was, IMO, a net negative. I just felt indifferent - that was all I could muster.

I truly hate the political climate in this country. I don't care who started it (and I don't really think anyone could accurately decide who started it). I just think it's so counter-productive. Breitbart was representative of that; and some of the reactions to his death are also representative. It can't go on. It's not sustainable. At some point, cooler heads are going to have to prevail.

In the hours immediately following Senator Ted Kennedy's death, Breitbart called Kennedy a "villain", a "duplicitous bastard", a "prick" and "a special pile of human excrement." (Wiki)

You reap what you sow. ;D

Breitbart was right down there with Limbaugh and Coulter; People who make their livings by spreading hate - modern, political pimps.

And the entire Republican Party goes, "Gee. We're really opposed to this kind of rhetoric..." wink, wink.

Did you hear the latest Limbaugh witticism?

Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh, already under fire from Democrats over his language in discussing a Georgetown University law student who testified about contraception, ratcheted up his rhetoric on Thursday, saying the student should post an online sex video if taxpayers are forced to pay for contraception.

Limbaugh on Wednesday had referred to student Sandra Fluke as a “slut” for supporting a requirement that health insurance cover contraception. On his radio show Thursday, Limbaugh went a little further:

"So Miss Fluke, and the rest of you Feminazis, here's the deal. If we are going to pay for your contraceptives, and thus pay for you to have sex. We want something for it. We want you post the videos online so we can all watch."

http://usnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/03/01/10552338-limbaugh-contraception-advocate-should-post-online-sex-videos

He ended his show lamenting the death of Breitbart and said we need a hundred, no a thousand more like him.

Pretty fair statements about a man who left a woman to drown in the back seat of his car and then used his family connections to avoid responsibility. Or maybe being a liberal entitled him a pass?

No wonder a guy like Santorum can win primaries, what with all the great thinkers like you out there. What did Churchill say? "The best argument against democracy is a five minute conversation with the average voter."

Just the idea that anybody thinks of Breitbart as a "conservative" is laughable. He was a radical extremist. A bomb thrower. The Right is so full of these kinds of extremists now that people think it's normal.

Shameless slanderer, among other things:

<header> Shirley Sherrod Offers Condolences

</header> Shirley Sherrod famously lost her job at the Department of Agriculture after Andrew Breitbart posted video of her that made it appear she had made racist remarks about white farmers. After the full video was released and her remarks appeared in context, Sherrod received apologies from the NAACP and President Obama, but the damage had been done. Sherrod, who filed an ongoing defamation suit against Breitbart, released a brief statement Thursday on Breitbart’s passing. “The news of Mr. Breitbart’s death came as a surprise to me when I was informed of it this morning,” Sherrod said. “My prayers go out to Mr. Breitbart’s family as they cope during this very difficult time. I do not intend to make any further comments.”

Or is it when somone disagrees with you now days? I remember when Carlin died there were some right of center folks that felt a need to talk trash -- but for the most part, they were ok -- I know I have never said bad things about him, or Kenedy -- whoever upon their death. If a child rapist or mass murderer is executed -- fine talk trash -- but maybe we should set the bar pretty low -- or is it high? Bottom line its pretty gross and degrading when folks feel a need to talk smack immediately after another dies.

Thats my opinion anyway -- if we want to live on a kinder, better planet, we need to extend kindness on occasion to those we may feel do not deserve it...

Gotta love it. Gaff is nuts with his conspiracy theories, but it's perfectly sane to think Obama put a hit on Breitbart.

First of all, Breitbart had serious heart issues going back a year or two. Secondly, even if he did have something big on Obama, do you really think he wouldn't have divulged that info to at least someone on his staff? He just kept it to himself and now that he's dead the alleged info has vanished? C'mon, get real.

My freshman year of college, my Political Science teacher (who had been on Senator Orrin Hatch's staff) got up and made a point. He said that Hatch's best friend in Washington was Ted Kennedy. Every week, they had a standing lunch appointment together. The point was that politics was more about building bridges, than it was about building fences.

So much for that concept.
