I got a chance to go to this event. It was incredible how much energy there was. I don't see any way that Republicans have a chance of winning Washington State without the buy-in of the libertarian vote. It's basically taking over the Republican party over here wholesale. If nothing else, just check out the Paul intro to get a sense of how energized this crowd was for his message. It was a pretty great experience.

Paul: U.S. "Slipping Into A Fascist System"
By AP
February 19, 2012 "CBS" -- KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul warned the U.S. is "slipping into a fascist system" dominated by government and businesses as he held a fiery rally Saturday night upstaging established Republican Party banquets a short distance away.
The Texas congressman drew a couple thousand standing and chanting people to Kansas City's Union Station as the party's establishment dined on steak across the street at the Missouri GOP's annual conference. Kansas Republicans were holding a similar convention in a suburb across the state line.
Paul staged his rally near the nation's World War I museum, asserting that the U.S. got off track about 100 years ago during the era of President Woodrow Wilson, who led the nation through World War I and unsuccessfully advocated for the nation's involvement in a forerunner of the United Nations.
"We've slipped away from a true Republic," Paul said. "Now we're slipping into a fascist system where it's a combination of government and big business and authoritarian rule and the suppression of the individual rights of each and every American citizen."
Although campaign aides were aware, Paul told reporters after his speech that he did not know his rally was coinciding with long-established Missouri and Kansas Republican Party events, where Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell — a vice presidential prospect — was the keynote speaker.
Several Republicans slipped away from the banquets to join the Paul rally. Among them was Ralph Munyan, a Republican committeeman in Kansas City's home county, who said he agreed with Paul's warnings of a "fascist system" and his pledge to the end nation's involvement in wars overseas and against drugs.
"His foreign policy is one of peace," Munyan said.
Paul repeatedly denounced President Barack Obama's recent enactment of a law requiring military custody of anyone suspected to be associated with al Qaeda and involved in planning an attack on the U.S. Obama said when he signed the legislation that his administration would not authorize the indefinite military detention of American citizens without a trial.

That enthusiasm doesn't show up in the voting booth.

Ron Paul does not get what the real problems are just like most Americans do not see what the real problems are. All the RNC candidates are votes for nostalgia. Barack, despite his failings, actually is leaning in the right direction.
The problem is nobody in Washington wants to admit, see, or acknowledge what the real problems are, what really needs to be done, or why those choices are inevitable.

RP goes to the root of our economic problems with his call for an audit of the fed. Which is the surest way to expose our corrupt financial establishment.
If the people were to learn even a fraction of the truth -- how evil the banksters are -- there would be an instant revolution. Total revulsion from all sides- - a tsunami of outrage.
No wonder the powers that be have tried to marginalize RP -- make him look like an irrelevant old man. It's a measure of how scared they are of him.
You have been duped.

People also laugh at W*gs.
Merely pointing out that being laughed at doesn't mean anything.
You think it means everything.

Ron Paul is the only one with a clue.
He asks excellent questions but I don't think Americans have the political will for the suggestions he is offering. I think many of the things he wants to do are going to happen anyway because the beltway boys are blind to the real problems that are affecting equity markets and the overall economy. It isn't where they think the problem is either.
The trick is election reform and getting big money out of politics. That isn't going to happen because big money has been brought more into politics to fight Obama. Our corporate sponsored elections will never allow him a voice.
