I thought that a mouthpiece was a required piece of gear in the NFL - like a buckled chin strap. Maybe i'm wrong on that.
However, either none of the players last night were using a mouthpiece, or they were using something very thin like the "invisalign." Did anyone else notice this? Am I crazy?

its quite possible that there is no mouthpiece rule in the nfl. I might just be thinking of high school rules.

there is no requirement, but everyone should try to wear them.

Quarterbacks rarely do... it's hard enough calling the audible with 75,000 fans yelling their lungs out without a piece of plastic in your mouth.
