Dude, the media is asking if a president has ever been in a situation where someone points a finger at him. The media is acting like this is something new when in fact the media via Brian Williams and NBC did this very thing to president Bush.
And no, the media does not get a pass on finger pointing and NO the media is not in higher standing than an acting governor and NO, BO is not on hallowed ground and is not untouchable by his constituency which happens to be you and me and every othe citizen in the USA.

Rush Limbaugh says wat?
If it weren’t for MSNBC we wouldn’t have any liberal sound bites. I’ve told Cookie I’m sick of it, ban MSNBC, and we can’t, ‘cause there’s no other place to get liberal sound bites. There isn’t any other place. I mean CNN is just insane over there. They emphasize their hosts, they have guests, but just roll tape on ‘em and it’s so boring. It’s not worth putting anything from CNN on the air.
If it weren’t for MSNBC there wouldn’t be any liberal sound bites. Now, that has to mean something. That has to mean that they’re rare, that they’re not everywhere. They may be everywhere in print, but, you know, left-wingers on the radio, genuine cuckoo’s nest. You wouldn’t even want to go there. I wouldn’t play that stuff. MSNBC’s it, and it’s two shows or three shows. It’s it is morning thing with Scarborough, it’s the Larry O’Donnell show at night, and maybe occasionally something from Reverend Sharpton. (interruption) Well, yeah, sometimes Sergeant Schultz. Sergeant Schultz is out there walking amongst abandoned railroad cars looking for the future of America. I know there’s Al Gore’s channel, but that’s nothing worth highlighting. It really says something. MSNBC is the only place in the media to get these liberals.

Yep, I'm ok with one elected official pointing the finger at another elected official as they are both working for their constituency. I'd rather these two parties communicate honestly with one another and try to resolve their differences rather than pretend everything is great.

I think they're both disrespectful.
I was taught not to point, especially at someone when you're arguing with them, because it's a sign of disrespect. I don't care how you feel about the POTUS (Bush, Obama, doesn't matter), and I don't care whether you're an elected official, journalist, or regular Joe...you don't point at someone like that.

I do think it's confrontational and I personally would not do it out of respect, but I think this is more of a reflection of BO's lousy leadership skills than anything else. I've said it before and I'll say it again, he's the most divisive president I can remember and when his administration sues AZ over an immigration issue I think it sets the tone for confrontation. JMHO.

I think the only reason he's more divisive than Bush is because the Democrats, as a rule, have no backbone.
Regardless of how lousy Obama's leadership skills are perceived to be, you don't point your finger at the president. Not at Bush, not at Obama, not at freaking Franklin Pierce.
If I'd have been in either situation, that finger would have been broken or bitten off. Add that to the end of a long list of reasons why I'll never get elected president.
