Rand was detained in Nashville, prevented from making his flight, and missed his commitment to speak at the March for Life in Washington, D.C., all because he refused to be the latest victim of the TSA’s disgusting full body pat-downs. After an “anomaly” turned up in his body scan as he was trying to board a flight, Rand showed that he was clearly no threat and asked to go through the scanner a second time. TSA officials demanded he undergo a full body pat-down. Rand stood up for his rights and refused – and was then detained by the TSA and prevented from getting on his flight. He got on another flight two hours later and went through the scanner with no problem.

TSA ****ed with the wrong man, and Ron Paul created an “End the TSA” moneybomb last night that’s already raised $50,000. As soon as word got out that Rand was being detained, grassroots Americans responded in outrage over this latest abuse of power by the TSA. Rand was able to speak up for liberty thanks to the platform he has as a U.S. Senator, but just imagine those who receive this kind of treatment every day in our nation’s airports and can’t fight back? The elderly. The disabled. Little kids. All victims of an out-of-control police state that is working overtime to strip away our freedoms, our rights, and our basic dignity.

TSA has got to go. Contrary to the beliefs of the paranoid who buy into this ****, a police state does not make you safe.

Being in DC, and doing a lot of traveling I have never seen a sitting member of Congress have to go through security. I wonder why Rand Paul did. Usually they are escorted to the gate by State Police.

TSA is just psychological warfare...smuggling stuff through is still more commonplace than you would think...the real scary stuff comes thru Sky-chef. I guess the debate will center on what is "unreasonable" search and seizure. However, given all that, it seems to have worked...we still have a Capitol building.

well that's why you show up 2 hours before your flight leaves right?? Because TSA may need a full body cavity search and you gotta have the time for that. Clearly this is not on TSA.

I'd say being that TSA is more worried about PC, this whole process is essentially worthless.
