A 30-year-old Indonesian civil servant who was viciously attacked by a mob after posting on Facebook that "God doesn't exist" is now threatened with jail time for blasphemy.

Watch what you post on FB... This story makes a great case for maintaining internet anonymity. On the OM we had incidents like the Steve Tensi thing --- in Indonesia, there are full out mob attacks. Really shows how different our cultures are.

Some dude from Thailand who posted parts of a banned book on his webpage, while living in the USA, was arrested when he came to visit and is in prison right now.

Even some Americans disagree with American culture. (And would like their own religious based version of Indonesian freedom of speech)

...and some attempt to pass legislation taking away freedom of speech.

There's the link. Long story short, cop posted some stuff on OM about how he planned to abuse his power while on the job, and was also dumb enough to list personal info on where he worked. Another OM poster took offense and reported it to a newspaper or the department where the guy worked and he ended up losing his job.
