Just posted something in another thread, figure its a good time to celebrate broncos history...
Top 10 plays in bronco history?
I have 4 candidates:

The question, how do these rank, and what are some of the other best denver plays?

Sorry, but people are overrating Champ's INT return. He let up at the end and was caught from behind.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that the strip by Jeremiah Castille and Mark Jackson's catch for the Drive 1 and 2 would be Top 5 or 10. Second to last play and/or last play of Super Bowl 32 is also a Top Play with our defense holding Packers to the loss.

Yes , but that still ended as a 14 point swing and secured the Only ( until last week) Broncos playoff win in this century.

Still one of the single most important plays in the teams history.

Good call. Castille's strip of Byner should be above Champs almost INT return.

I disagree. The fact that it was the only playoff win in the past 10 years until last Sunday, doesn't give it more significance than it should. If you're goint go stress the word "important" then the game should translate into more than one win in 10 years.

Other than the usual suspects one of my favs is Louis Wrights blocked punt return for a TD against SD. The SECOND time in two plays.

But it didn't have much signifigance as far as importance to team.

That was similar to the Monday night game in 84 against Green Bay where it snowed and Denver had 2 defensive TDs on consecutive plays.

of all those ,I would say Tebow, because it WON a PLAYOFF game...

Still an epic play though. How many times do you see the best corner if football, pick the best qb, then get run down at the 1 yrd line and its hard to see where ball went out of bounds? It was an epic play and worth of consideration.

Still though John Mobley just knocking down Favres last pass still the most exciting to me lol!

what about craig morton's 32yard pass to jack dolbin that put the nail into Pittsburgh's coffin, securing our first playoff win ever.

and who could forget morton to moses..74 yards to jump start our first afc championship.

and even though it came in a superbowl loss, rick upchurch's 67 yard ko ret in SB XII, was a record at the time. Btw did you know that he used to date condoleeza rice?

Mark's td catch was great...but, in my opinion the biggest play was his 21 yard catch of a kind of high throw on 3rd and 18....and wasn't that pass the one where Elway had to snatch ball after it grazed the hip of Steve Watson while he was in motion?

Didn't that one go for a TD?

To the Bengals?

Well if we have a best plays in Broncos history thread, someone ought to start a worst plays thread. Tito Paul? Nick Ferguson? Jake Plummer? Kyle Orton? So many to choose from.

Or Tony Lilly (and the rest of the Broncos' defense in SB XXII in the 2nd quarter collapse vs the Redskins)

Elway's fourth down pass to The Vance in "The Drive Part II" vs the Oilers has to be up there, as well.

This came to mind as soon as I saw the thread title. Greatest play in history for me as that batted pass secured our very first SB win.

It wasn't in playoff game..it was in the 30-7 drubbing of Oakland in Oakland 1977

my favorite will always be that hit that steve atwater knocked himself out with in the superbowl. That was the moment I felt that my misery was finally over. Long suffering fan no more. I know that wasn't the last play, but that was the moment I felt it was over. Those guys wanted that game so bad they were willing to put their careers on the line to win it. It was beautiful.

The long TD pass to Rod Smith against ATL in the super bowl comes to mind. The two deep back to back FG's by Prater this season were memorable too.

Dude! That's awesome! I looked for a video but couldn't find one.

I was actually at that game in 1977 when I was 14. My Dad won box seats at the 40 yard line in some kind of auction so I got to watch the game "in style". That pass happened right in front of us on our side of the field.

It was awesome! I hated the Raiders so much more back then than I do now. It was nice to finally see them go down in flames. I love how Turner just casually tosses the ball to the ref like he done this a thousand times before.

Not sure how many would put Jason Elam's record-tying 63 yard field goal in the top 10, but here it is ... they line up for the kick around the 0:50 mark.
