Dealing with a family matter, should be back Sunday:

Asked if there’s any concern Paxton might not play Saturday night at New England, Fox said: “We’ll answer that day to day.”

After practicing Tuesday, Paxton missed workouts Wednesday and Thursday. If he’s unable to play against the Patriots, Russ Hochstein will be the fill-in.

On a side not, I think this quote from that article was interesting:

“Lonie is a genuinely nice guy on and off the field. I told him if I had family issues, I’d be doing the same thing,” Prater said. “You have your priorities: family, faith and football. I think in that order, too.”

Seems like Tebow is rubbing off a little on the *former* stripper-ditching Prater.

Patriots rule 13 players "questionable" on the injury report going into the Game with the Broncos.

Many players are listed for the first time on the list, including Wes Welker...the day before the game.

Belicheat famously has always lied on his injury report, which is against NFL rules. Just one, in a very long line, of NFL rules infractions.

Welcome to the Broncos, David Binn. It may be worthy of mention, that he has not played in a game since Sept. 15, 2010, when he tore his hamstring from the bone during a punt return.

"With Dave, every snap was perfect," Scifres said. "I never had to spin the laces on a field goal, and I never had to jump for a snap on a punt. I was really comfortable with Dave because the snap was never a variable. All I had to focus on was punt or holding for (place kicker Nate Kaeding)."

Apparently he is even better than Paxton... Hope you been staying in shape bro.

Even if his head is totally messed up and he's spending the 3 hours thinking he's somewhere else and not on the field? What an asinine remark for you to make regarding Paxson's right to privacy ... the guy has been nothing but the consummate professional since coming to Denver. To suggest that a personal matter he's dealing with does NOT deserve our utmost respect is ridiculous. Paxson would surely much rather have been preparing to play in a huge playoff game against his former team.

It's not his "right" to get the benefit of the doubt.

It most certainly is - by suggesting it's not is to imply that his character & judgment should be questioned ... which it shouldn't be - but you, on the other hand ...

Sorry but this is laughable. A lack of skepticism is what makes someone a sucker.

This. I realize that many of us wanted "details" about why he would miss such a huge game, but knowing the serious nature of why he's not going to be playing tonight puts everything into perspective.

Lots of love and prayers for the Paxton family.

Providence, R.I. _ Broncos long snapper Lonie Paxton is staying back from the team’s playoff game Saturday against his former New England Patriots to help care for his wife, who has been having complications with her pregnancy with twins.

Can I still blame McD for this???

I can totally sympathise with Lonie, very little comes before family - and this, at the end of the day, is 'just' a game. Prayers with the Paxton family

Anyone who would play a football game over being with their wife in this situation can can go **** off and die in a fire.

So he is staying home to be with his wife to take care of her which is great, But i read some where that said, he can play on Sunday ? So the complication will be ok one day after or is he getting help on Sunday at which time he is ok to leave ? Really ??

It is what it is...
Run what you've brung.

We wish the Paxton's family the best, he obviously has some serious business to attend.

It's part of the game. You're bound to be in adverse situations that'd challenge you.
That's where coaching makes its money.
We've gotta put the best team on the field with what we've got that gives us the best chance...
You get knocked down, and you get up. Keep on truckin'

Who told you he is coming back on Sunday ?
