My bay area friends have been rubbing that in my face for long time. You have no idea how much I agree with you!

But I would love a rematch. Actually, I'm pissed off that there wasn't a rematch in '97, when the Niners had the No. 1 seed in the NFC. I was pissed that the Packers blew them out because I thought it would be more fitting for the Broncos to avenge that Super Bowl loss to the Niners, and the Niners beat them earlier that year when TD got hurt early in the game.

yeah, that would have finalized the revenge tour.

While we're dreaming, let's beat them 56-10.

We, as insignificant posters on a fan message board, don't have to take it "one game at a time". We're free to speculate all we want...

That Niner team was ridiculously good. I wish the 98 or 99 team would have gotten a crack at them.

I don't think the Broncos will miss an extra point, so it can be done! ;D

They'll be no rematch, Niners wont even get past the Saints this weekend.

the niners are built perfectly to upset the saints and packers

If we advance that far, I would definitely like to see the 9ers or the Giants in that one.

Ive always said that IMO that may have very well been if not the greatest super bowl team of all time, definately one of them...

I think the Giants and Saints win.

In 1997, the Niners were lucky because had their protected their turf and defeated Gilbert Brown and the Packers in the NFC Title Game, they would now have a 1 under their "L column".

The Giants Super Bowl was the most winnable of the losses. That's the team I want to rematch against. Besides, the New York market would give us NO chance to win the Super Bowl. That's where we have them where we want them...

I was thinking about avenging the 55-10 loss myself (still haven't re-watched that game after all these years...)

But I'm thinking now that a Super Bowl matchup with the Giants could be fun. After we win, we'd really be able to rub it in New England's nose. We can say: "See, we were able to do to the Giants what you guys couldn't do when you went 19-0."

Pasties fans get all upset when you refer to their 19-0 season.

One of the worst days of my life. I was at a party in L.A. I was the only one in the whole place with an orange jersey on. Really, really sucked.

The Niners were so good that year destroying everyone. I purposely watched the game alone.

Following the NFL today, its hard to believe that the NFC elite teams were much better that the AFC elite teams during the 1980s. Except for the steelers, I was for the underdog AFC teams every year.

Who invited the negative Nancy to the party? Oh wait his name has "Gator" in it.

I've been telling everyone since about week 10 that it was us and SF in the superbowl this year, jokingly at first but gotta stand behind my mouth. Would love to see us whoop their ass and get some revenge.

I was in the Army, in Panama when that game was played. They put up 2 tvs for around 100 of us to watch the game on, and there was only one other Bronco fan there. We caught hell...

I have this game on DVD and after watching it again while having a box of Kleenex next to me I realized that Elway was VERY inaccurate in this game and when he was accurate, Mark Jackson had 2-3 first half drops. Couple that in with a 1st quarter fumble by the INJURED Bobby Humphrey after Denver was driving to take a 10-7 LEAD in that 1st quarter and instead we wound up down 14-3. (I guess that means we would've lost 55-17...)
