View Full Version : The Denver Broncos Are Back

epicSocialism4tw

Orange jerseys returning next season. We have a super-clutch QB who will do whatever it takes to win. We have a team who will fight for 60 minutes. We have a new-era Dan Reeves-type. We have a couple of d-linemen who make plays. We have a young OL who just go out and put in the work.

Its 1984 all over again.

Denver Broncos football is starting to feel like it did when we were kids watching the Elway ship get off the ground.

Someone needs to photoshop Tebow in the 1980's Broncos unis.

The orange jerseys predated even Elway. Everything "Broncos" does not begin & end with Elway.

I'm all in favor of an orange nod to the past. Tebow should be able to build his own legacy, but nothing wrong with acknowledging the past - both when Elway was the signal caller and prior to that as well.

I think it would be pretty cool to see Tebow in an old uni.

It's human nature to find symmetry in life. Just like all the people trying to break google when TT passed for 316 yards against the Steelers. Obviously there is no way that it was a coincidence, it must be divine intervention. The same is true with comparing TT to Elway, or this team to the past and happier times.

So this jack wad made it all the way to Thursday before calling Tim Tebow John Elway. Hope this isn't bad luck, everytime Drama Llama starts some intense pillow humping while thinking about Tebow, it usually ends with Tebow going on a three game skid like he did after the Vikings game when they wanted to put him on the MVP short list.

The Broncos never went away. I just look at things from a 30 year perspective. This teams success is cyclical. You just got to endure the lows to appreciate the highs.

How a few are pissed off now is impossible for me to grasp. No reason to name them. Just a couple weeks ago there were plenty who weren't happy we "Backed into the playoffs". No need to point how foolish that perspective is now. (whoops I just did):)

Put your ball caps on, put your kids on your knees this sunday and enjoy being a Bronco fan.

Oh and to everyone including Shannon Sharpe, Tim Tebow, and the rest of the people who still don't get it. It's Broncos Country not Broncos Nation.

Elway's youth was where the investment occured and the superbowl victories were the huge payoff after years of accmulating interest.

Anyone who was there in the early days can see the similiarities. Except that Elwaymania was confined to the Rocky Mountans. Tebowmania is national.

No, what made them awesome was the fact that we won two ****ing Super Bowls. The sense of redemption was nice, but it din't make them that much more awesome. Given the choice, I certainly would rather Tebow rack up a Montana-like win record in multiple Super Bowls, than have us get blown out multiple times just so we can win a couple late in his career and feel some sense of "payoff".

The redemption is what made them great. If the team had won with Bubby Brister at QB it wouldn't have been anywhere near the same.

It was great because I had sat through the Giants second-half blowout, the Redskins blowout to a backup QB, the bottom dropping out in 1989, all of the epic comebacks, all of the big games, etc.

Mojoe's biggest game came in 1998, he had drafted Bret Favre in the first round and somehow Jamal Anderson fell into his lap in the late 3rd round. After overcoming a year of failures and injuries, his FFB team squeaked into the playoffs and went on to win the Mojoe league trophy that year. We salute you fantasy football player guy!

^ Best part was MH Mojoe parading around with his aluminum foil trophy up and down the street. It got creepy when he demanded the neighbors kiss the "trophy" as he screamed , " I won it b****es!" I will never forget the time I first met MHM at a bar in Portland, Oregon. He had a LT jersey on and LT just ran for 4 TDs against us. I was polite and told him "Congrats on the win but Broncos will be back!" He told me, "Oh, I am a Broncos fan too but LT is my starter for my Fantasy Football team and I just won my Fantasy League. I just wear the jersey of LT to support my Fantasy team!"
