View Full Version : Broncos should Re-sign Britt Davis

The Broncos need another WR and the best choice is Britt Davis for a few reasons;

a) He spent 2010 with the Broncos with 3games? on the 53-man, the rest P-Squad
b) Davis, along with Lloyd and Gaffney, worked out with Tebow during the lockout
c) Davis looked great this preseason, is a stout 6'3"/215 with very good hands, routes, quick moves and should have made the roster over Thomas, but ended up one of the last cut and wasn't re-signed to the P-Squad.
d) And best of all... Davis was signed January 4th to the Patriots P-Squad League rules allow a team to sign a player off another's P-Squad as long as it's to the active roster. It would be a full-on NE shizster move, karma for signing McD some would say, and give us a legit WR to bolster our depth.

It would be a move so diabolical that even Hitler would call it "some cold blooded shiat."

It would solve literally all of our problems.

Wait, I thought Decker was day to day?

Granted, the injury looked pretty bad, but this IS a playoff game... Deck should give it a go, if he can.

I like it.

Also, I really do hope we move Decker to the IR and sign someone else. Even if we keep this train rolling I don't see Decker getting back on the field this year. If we put him on IR we can squeeze another guy onto the roster while the league is still enforcing the smaller in-season roster limits. This gives us a free shot at someone multiple teams would probably go after when rosters expand at season's end. Good way to add a borderline 53 man type who we can keep from now all the way through to final cuts next year if we want before we need to make a hard decision.

So do I, but there's a catch - You can't sign a player off another team's practice squad in the week before you play that team. We could have signed him on the 4th as well, to carry 5WRs instead of carrying 5OTs , but that ship sailed.

Someone around here has to have Elway's cell number by now.

Really? I didn't know that -- kudos to you for the 411 if it's true.

I'd rather sign Randy Moss for a game.

Damn. Well even if we bring up one of the PS WRs I hope we make a corresponding move to keep the PS full and maximize the talent we can hoard prior to the off-season feeding frenzy.

MHR just reported Larsen to IR and Goodwin was signed: http://www.milehighreport.com/2012/1/10/2696963/broncos-add-wide-receiver-goodwin-to-roster-larsen-to-ir.

Don't forget, Lonnie Paxton is still on our team.
He's McDaniels buddy. He could do some damage like screwing up longsnaps, and find himself back in New England next year.
Remember, he screwed a longsnap in last game against New England...

I am thinking TE Julius Thomas will be active this week and will be part of our receving this week. And from pre-season he was talked as a good reciever.. why not use him.
