View Full Version : Romney Tax Plan adds $600 Billion to Deficit

Romney's plan will add $600 Billion to the deficit (According to the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center), part of Mitt’s overarching plan to drive America into debt, then sell it to China for a profit.

The plan would benefit the types of people who make millions off bankrupting companies, i.e. Romney's BFFs. But hey! It's less than the 1.3 trillion Gingrich's plan would add to the deficit.

Romney's Plan: $100 Tax Hike for the Poor, $100,000 Tax Cut For the Rich

Well since a tax is a disincentive, maybe we can tax the poor out of existence. You know, force them to move up the income later to get relief from being poor and overtaxed. Punish the poor with more taxes, that'll teach them and solve our poor people problem! Genius plan Romney!

How much would China give us for America now? Would I have to learn Mandarin?

Just to be fair, this is also from the article:

The Romney camp emailed to dispute the idea that eliminating temporary tax provisions amounts to a tax hike. They have a case. TPC makes a judgment call when they predict future tax policy. In this analysis, they predict that Obama will extend his stimulus-act tax cuts. So Romney's plan only raises taxes against what TPC thinks will be Obama's policy.

This is a baseline analysis. However, changes in corporate taxes, repatriation taxes, capital gains tax, etc. would all lead to increased economic activity and thus a higher baseline. So this 600 billion less in revenue is bunk.

Let me ask you a question, do you know how much this Obama Administration contributed to the deficit over the next decade? You guys really want to debate that issue?

Obama merely put the debt increases incurred under Bush back on the books.

Remind me of the tax increase that Bush put in place to pay for the war in Afghanistan.

Remind me of the tax increase that Bush put in place to pay for the war in Iraq.

Remind me of the tax increase that Bush put in place to pay for his Medicare Part D.

Oh yeah - Bush *cut* taxes, especially for the rich.

The deficit and the debt are two different things.

Lets quit funding all the garbage liberal psuedomorality programs like planned parenthood and you'll see the deficit shrivel up real quick.

Um, no, moron.

The programs you're referencing represent only a miniscule percentage of annual spending.

The deficit isn't going to "shrivel up" until half-wits like you realize that consolidating wealth and concentrating power in the hands of an increasingly smaller circle of super-rich blood suckers isn't going to improve their economic prospects.

To say nothing of the reason for the spending on Obama's watch.

That is to say, had Bush not left America in the worst economic straits since the great depression, there would have been no need for economic stimulus, etc.

But but but.. if we stop funding PBS and Planned Parenthood, we're .002% closer to solving the debt problem! And with all those new unwanted babies in America raised on 100% corporate media, we can charge foreigners $10 a ticket to watch the making of "Idiocracy 2" in person, i.e. a ticket to stand on any street in the USA. It will be a hit, and our debt solved!

Romney: "European-style welfare societies lead to poverty"
"...according to an Organization for Economic and Cooperation Development report issued last year, the level of poverty in the United States was more than twice that of the Czech Republic, Denmark, Hungary, Austria, the Netherlands, France, Slovenia, Norway, Finland, Sweden, and Switzerland." --Mittens, who will undoubtedly be the nominee is a lying political whore who'll say anything.

Romneys not my guy, but 600 billion would be 400 billion less than the one trillion Obama has added to the debt per year since Obama has been elected. R's are bad with Debt, but Obama appears to be intentionally creating debt...

Dont worry that moment is coming, and you can daftly assign blame on those who wanted less spending all allong. BTW, are you getting paid money to make up all this crap all day long, day after day, year after year?

First of all, we wouldn't even be discussing stimulus bills had your hero GeeDubya not reduced the U.S. economy to rubble.

Second, the stimulus didn't "sink the economy" - it prevented a total collapse of the economy.

As usual, you avoid a direct response to the point I made (i.e., that a stimulus wouldn't have been necessary had your boy Dumbya not eviscerated the economy) and go straight for the ad hominem.

Hence, if you want to "not be a fan" of something, then you should "not be a fan" of Bush's economic record.
