Nice 2nd half for Dumervil after his start of the season was slowed down by the shoulder injury.

Good to see this thread is getting the attention it deserves.

Per the Denver Post:

Starters: Von and Champ
Backup: Doom
1st Alternates: Clady, Dawkins, and McGahee
2nd Alternates: Colquitt, Prater, and Tebow

I heard that the 3 qbs ahead of Tebow are Brady, Roethlisberger, and Schaub. Tebow could end up starting.

Yeah on the fan that's the discussion. It could end up as Dalton, Tebow and Flacco, Brady never plays SB or not, Ben could be in the SB or recovering and Schaub obviously can't go.

http://www.nfl.com/probowl/story/09000d5d825772f0/article/pro-bowl-analysis-afc-roster-full-of-good-calls-omissions?module=HP11_cp

The first two are easy, with Brady and Roethlisberger both continuing to add to their future Hall of Fame careers. Rivers is another story, as his interception-filled first half of the season was a cause for concern. But with only two picks over his final five games, the Chargers QB earned the spot.

typical Pro Bowl. lots of players getting in based solely on reputation

Biggest snub? Chris Myers

Chris Myers in Houston has been the best center in the game this season. (still super upset that we lost him for nothing long ago)

Pouncey over him? What a joke

Both Rivers and Manning getting in is a f-ing joke, might as well have voted in Bradford and Painter. Okay that's a stretch but still.

Not being biased because of my hate for Rivers but I can think of at least three AFC QBs not named Tebow that deserve the nod over him.

Are you serious? Manning's season would be record setting if he did it in Denver. 4600 yards 26td's 16ints with a game to go. I sure hope you thought Cutler getting in was a joke his last year here as well

It's a toss up in my opinion, Eli gets a lot of ****, but he was great this season. Stafford had a great year too. Honestly, they both will likely make it. Either Brees or Rodgers are going to be too busy with the championship game.

Man do we have some crazy passing stats this year.
At least 2 QB's most likely will have over 5,000 yards passing.
Probably 9 QB's over 4,000, maybe 10 if Roethlisberger plays.
3 QB's will be around 4800+ yards(not including the 2 over 5000)
2 QB's already with 40+ TD passes, with 2 more having a slim chance at 40.
4 QB's currently over 30 TD passes with a chance of having 3 more.
4 QB's with a QB rating over 100.
10 with a QB rating over 90
14 QB's with a QB rating over 85.

Anytime you let the fans vote for an all star game it turns into a joke. At least a big part of the decisions go to the players in the NFL.

Did Rivers deserve to go this year? Probably not and id be fine with it and for me, i dont care about the probowl anyways. The game is a joke and nobody watches it but for Tebow to be even mentioned to be going to the probowl even as an alternate is a joke. Worse joke than when Vince Young made it one year. Tebow still hasnt even completed 50% of his passes and he an alternate? Talk about criminal.
Cam Newton is an alternate as well. Can you even compare the seasons they have had? Newton as a passer is light years ahead of Tebow.

Thats the wuss league they have turned it into. Seems every pass you are looking for a flag now and the WR is certainly waving his arm to try and get one.
You cant compare Elways early stats to Tebows, or any QB's today to the stats of those guys because in Elways era the WR's were getting mugged and i dont think there was even a 5 yard chuck rule back then. To do what he did in those days was pretty remarkable.

Was even worse in Fouts and Bradshaws era. I recall Lynn Swan getting clocked by George Atkinson of the Raiders in the back of the head with a deliberate forearm whack while the play was on the other side of the field and he went out of the game with a concussion.....no flag was thrown.
