Broncos set to host Kyle Orton, Chiefs

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- He's revived a foundering franchise with last-minute magic and put the buzz back in the Broncos. Tim Tebow's next challenge is rebounding from the worst game of his career.

Tebow threw four interceptions in a 40-14 loss at Buffalo on Christmas Eve, two of which were returned for touchdowns in a 19-second span.

If Tebow was shaken by the first four-interception game of his life, he isn't showing it, insisting "my confidence is just fine."

That faith will come in handy Sunday when Tebow tries to beat the guy he couldn't beat out in training camp -- Kyle Orton, who brings the Kansas City Chiefs (6-9) to Denver with a shot at spoiling the playoff hopes of a team that shunted him aside.

The Broncos (8-7) can clinch the AFC West and their first playoff berth since 2005 with a win.

Notes
Fox said he hasn't decided whether to keep the Chiefs-Raiders score and stats off the stadium's scoreboards Sunday: "I would hope our focus is all on the field against Kansas City," he said.

We're all adults here, put the Raider-Charger game on the board.

Thank God you bumped your own thread. I was getting worried. All that cut and pasting work. Btw, not sure how TJ likes it but maybe only post part of the article with link. I know Broncos forums has it that way.

Oh, I just helped you by bumping your thread.

If we lose this game, it's going to be a long ass off season!

Not feeling good about this one, folks. It would be the MO for this franshise the past 10 or so years that we lose to the loser Orton. A new level of embarassment cast upon ourselves.

Can Tebow overcome all this bad mojo? The D has clearly regressed and looking like the D of last year. The coaching staff has no killer instinct. If we get up 2 scores on Buffalo after they missed 2 chip shot FGs, that team would have quit. Instead, we let them hang around and run it up the gut repeatedly in the 2nd qtr. A gameplan so piss poor you can't really put it into words.

the defense wasn't great, but not all that bad. they only gave up 19 points.

The defense made exactly zero big plays the last two weeks and is getting run over. 300+ yards on the ground total the last two weeks. No turnovers forced, no hope of any turnovers forced.

And Buff missed two chip shot FGs on their first two drives. Its not like we stopped them early and forced good field position.

Den's oline simply dominated the chorfs front 7. Franklin pushed his blocks five yards after contact on every play I watched. If they can do it again, Den should win. If tebow's in 3rd and 6 very often, they probably don't .... unless KC's pass defense is really bad, but then KC's defense is better rushing the passer than defending the run, so .... I'm guardly optimistic, but Den's defense ain't scaring anyone. If the chorfs can run, it will be a long day.

Agree. But the D needs some help from the O and ST and isn't getting much. When the O and ST directly give up 21 points, and set up at least another 3 (the int that was returned to Denver's 27), you're doomed. Giving up too many big plays and not making enough, but held up much better than the O in the 2nd half (you can really only put 6 of Buf's 23 2nd half points on the D).

Yeah, it's not 1986. In the era of streaming video to your phone, everyone will know the score anyway.

I hope they don't show the score of the Chargers/Raiders game. yes, fans will be able to access the score anyways... but players will not be able to.

It would be classic to lose 3 in a row and make playoffs. AFC west has fallen really low.

45 yards is a chip shot?

Keep things in perspective - we were expecting the REGULAR season to be long ... granted, being this close to a playoff berth WOULD be a disappointment, however, the team has exceeded expectations many of us had in early August.

We are going to win. When I put my mark of "win" on a game, we win it. And I just know we are going to win it. Ta-dah! We are in the playoffs! =)
