Don't really have any invested interest in the Saints and Falcons but am watching to hopefully see Brees break Marino's passing record.

I wish Tebow would step up in the pocket like Brees instead of spinning and running backwards.

I wish Denver had the full compliment of receivers Brees does too. Creating separation, what's that?

If you want Tebow to step up in the pocket, then say a prayer every day that somehow Carl Nicks hits the open market and the Broncos make him the one FA they must have. He almost looks bored tossing people around. The difference between him and Zane Beadles is remarkable.

Drew Brees only needs 63 more passing yards tonight to break Dan Marino's single season passing yards record set in 1984.

31 to go and early in the third.

BTW....Darren Sproles is exactly the kind of player Denver needs on offense and special teams.

I'm very surprised they never even gave him a sniff as a free agent....he routinely boned us in the ass when he was with San Diego, so it's not like Denver didn't know what a weapon he was.

Dude is capable of destroying you several different ways.

He will run for 300-600 yards and average over 5.0 yards per carry while doing so.

Sproles is a beast receiving out of the backfield and will get a team 40-60 receptions every year, although he has over 80 receptions this year.

Plus, he is a monster in the return game and is equally dangerous as a punt or kick returner.

Denver could have really used him on offense on 3rd downs and in passing situations, plus on punt and kick returns.

What a versatile weapon to have in your football chess set.

Every time I see Darren Sproles and I think Maurice Clarett and why on earth Mike Shanahan traded up to get this clown when Darren Sproles was available a round later.

Wow Brees has 40 TD's. If they made that final play in week 1 and beat GB, I think Brees would be the NFL MVP right now instead of Rodgers

I agree..SD missed Sproles..Not sure why they didn't sign him.

Props to Drew Brees.

I'd rather see Drew Brees break the record than see Tom Brady break it before him.

He's a free agent after this season, right?

I wonder why NO hadn't signed him to long term deal after SB win?

Saints fans can thank John Lynch and The Denver Broncos because without us they wouldn't have Brees.

A physical LG, a speedy WR, and a TE(hopefully one of the TE's currently on the roster) steps up and all of those things makes this offense better.

It is kind of a double nut kick since both of them were dropped by them only to go on to be more successful with the team that picked them up. Tis the season to be jolly. ;D

That comes with experience. There was a reason the Chargers drafted Rivers when they had Brees. It also helps that the Saints probably have the best interior offensive line in football.

Most of their current fans weren't fans back in the early 80s.:giggle:

If GB and NO make it that far (likely...but you never know) I imagine we see a repeat of the season opener.

That would be a pretty awesome conference championship game.

The fact that they picked Culpepper over Brees they deserve this lol.

I meant because they were going to sign Brees, but their docs advised against it because of his shoulder.

 With Norv?

Peyton and Brees were made for each other. Put Rivers in that offense and I don't think he fits as well as Brees does. Brees wasn't as productive here in this style of offense as Rivers is.

In response to a comment above, Charger fans are actually still very supportive of Brees. I saw a lot of positive comments on the message boards when he broke the record tonight, especially throwing it to Sproles. I almost never see any hate towards either of them from Charger fans.
