The Colts just beat the Texans on a late-game drive by Orlovsky.

I believe that puts a couple teams tied for the worst record, not sure who wins/loses the tiebreakers.

Somewhere Peyton is dancing.

The Rams have Bradford...so I wonder who will get Luck?

Is it me or is the officiating this season worse than usual?

I believe Minnesota is the other team and they have Ponder.

I think the Rams would take him because of how bad/injured Bradford has been this year. The Vikings would probably trade the pick.

Anyone know the tiebreaker situation?

Colts would still end up #1, unless they beat Jacksonville. And the Rams and Vikings would have to lose their last two games as well for the Colts to 'slip.'

Yeah I think they are still safe for the #1.

On a side note, did anyone else feel like they were watching a slow, gimpy Tebow on that last drive? (Yes I had to bring that up).

So we can get the #3 seed in the playoffs! Need to win our last 2 games, and the Texans have to lose next week against the Titans.

Yeah as of right now, Colts are still ahead by .031 vs. Minnesota and .053 against St. Louis. That's a pretty sizable lead, and those two would need to gain a lot of ground on the opponent W-L side of things in order to overtake Indy. Of course, if Indy wins next week, then all bets are off.

Mixed bag. How did you feel when we beat the Texans last year? I was elated.

So they are safe for the #1 unless they beat Jacksonville, but they just beat a much better Houston team, so I wouldn't be surprised.

I suppose we'll see whether they phone it in to keep the pick.

Vikings would get the #1 because they have the strength of schedule advantage I beleive.

They'll probably trade the pick. The rumor is that the asking price begins at three #1's and some assortment of #2's and #3's.

This trade could make the Vikings a dynasty a few years down the road.

The win against the Texans didn't really hurt us, as long as Denver lost to SD the last week of the year. Same thing here with the Colts. I'd be worried a bit if I was a Colts fan, that's been riding the S4L bandwagon most of the season.

Ponder looks like a decent prospect.

He won't get you some team's draft repetoire for the next three years in a trade though.

Heck, even if they end up with the #2 pick, they can trade back with a team who has to have RGIII. I betcha Shanny makes a run at RGIII.

Apparently we would lose the tiebreaker with the Texans if the Jets lose twice and the Buccs win twice.

That's weird that Tampa has anything to do with it playing two NFC teams, it must be a strength of schedule thing.

Like I said earlier in the thread, as of right now, it's Indy, and with a pretty sizable lead:

http://www.gbnreport.com/weeklydraftorder.html

1 Indianapolis 1-13 .536

2 Minnesota 2-12 .567

3 St. Louis 2-12 .589

If they all finish with the same record, it's going to take some doing for either Minnesota or St. Louis to gain that ground.

I much prefer to talk about the playoff picture. This would be a great and valid thread once we are eliminated or upset GB in the SB in TEBOW TIME of the last 5 minutes of the game.

God I hope J'ville tanks next week. Hurt MOJO or let him sit out, and just suck like you've never sucked before jags. They should tank that 1 meaningless game to avoid 10-15 years of hell.

Colts had Manning. To turn right around and get Luck would be a freaking travesty.

Send him to the NFC so we only have to play him every 4 years.

I would think the Vikings would take Luck and look at trading Ponder to a team like Miami or possibly Cleveland for there 2nd round pick. If I was a Vikes fan and I heard we were keeping Ponder over Luck I would become a Packers fan on the spot. That is how absolutely stupid they would have to be to make that decision.

Ponder has been mediocre at best this year. He did light us up pretty good but other than that game he has been making alot of poor decisions.

I just tried the Jets losing once (without the Buccs losing) and we lose the tiebreaker that way.

Rams can't keep Luck. They drafted Bradford #1 before the new CBA, his contract is massive with tons of back end guaranteed money. He's unmovable for any real value.

Really like the sounds of the #3 seed.

That's not true. The only back end guaranteed money is, oddly enough, his base salary amounts. Kind of backwards, but that's the way it is. Every site with his contract breakdowns shows that Bradford only has about $10 mil more of unpaid guaranteed money. That's hardly an amount that would make any team cringe.

Yes but I think Deek may be referring to the fact that under the old CBA his huge signing bonus would be accelerated, resulting in a huge cap hit that would handicap the team.

This offseason will be interesting. Luck, Ponder, Bradford, or Manning will be on the open market. It will be interesting to see what teams would give up to get one of them..i don't see any of these teams drafting Luck and keeping their current guy, if they don't trade Luck/the top pick.

So am I. Hence the $10 mil comment. That is the amount that they'd eat toward the cap. Not much when you consider the $10 mil + the relatively small cap hit for Luck under the new rules would equal not much more than if they simply kept Bradford anyway and didn't draft Luck.

Ponder is a great prospect. He's played his heart out in his rookie season.
I'll give him anothe year or two.
I believe a team holding the number one pick overall, will draft Luck whether they need him or not, but then again, a team with the number one pick, most likely needs a QB anyway...

Bradford has been bad, and injured, but it is too early to call him a bust. I guarantee you that there are coaches out there that think they can develope him still. If I am the Rams, and have the top pick, I'd take Luck and trade Bradford though. I'm not sure what I would do if I had to chose between Luck and Manning, or Luck and Ponder.
