The guy in blue must be the dumbest person alive.

Maybe he was having PTSD war flashbacks?

BOOM! (cart takes out legs)

The sound of the stadium activities becomes distant, as if heard through the end of a the Holland Tunnel. Equipresent becomes the ack-ack-ack sound of rifle fire and the childlike and horrific screaming of grown men. As coach Smith becomes parallel with the ground, he see's the Cowboys Stadim roof fade away into the Saigon sky.

Coach Smith: "Joe, Joe! Can you drive this **** jeep? For **** sake, man...keep the thing on the road! Joe? JOE? ****! CHARLIE GOT JOE! "

Coach Smith reaches over for the wheel of the jeep (cart) and finds that his left-handed, erratic steering isnt satiating his sense of impending doom.

Coach Smith: "CRAP! I'M OUTTA HERE! LOOK OUT BELOOOOOOOOooooooo..."

Coach Smith barrel rolls clear of the cart's path and comes to a dead stop staring straight at a pair of black boots. He slowly looks up, fearing that his gaze will never reach the eyes of Nguyen Van Lem. When his eyes regain focus, he sees a pale pimple-faced freshman with a euphonium.

There is so much fail in this video. Check out the skillz on the guy at the 31 yard line.

The guy that steers it for a few seconds is also the guy who got the brunt of the initial impact. Im actually impressed that his instincts had him ensure that no one else was in danger before he bailed to lick his own wounds. Someone is getting ****canned for sure, and I bet its the guy running after the cart in the first place that eventually stops it.

My daughter and I watched this video a dozen times. We had to stop because we were laughing so hard.

The hero was the guy who ran alongside and jumped in, just like the Lone Ranger use to do in those old Westerns. That clown whose legs were hanging over the front of the cart will never live down his bailout...although it probably was the right thing to do.

The funniest thing about it to me is that he had time to measure out his barrel roll and then execute it, but he didn't have time to look at the pylon holding down the gas pedal. Ha!

I think someone shot that guy. Explains the fall, and the subsequent bailout / stunt roll. Dey shooten.

he was probably the one who was hospitalized for an ACL tear

Imagine the shame of telling the wife. .. ."honey, i'm at the hospital. there was an accident with a runaway cart."

wife - "I saw that on the news. were you ran over by it?"

chump - "no, not exactly. i blew out my knee running over to it. ... ."

The announcer says "A yard marker somehow got stuck on the accelerator.." Yeah, sure...

I agree with fixedMind, that guy chasing it was in the know. I am certain.

I've been in a similar situation involving a golf cart and a decorative landscaping stone.

He wasnt about to take that death ride all the way to the endzone!! he had to be going 3 maybe 4 MPH it was a wise choice to bail.

LOL

I think that his barrel roll had a higher top end speed than the cart.

I worked at a golf course when i was a kid and we drove carts with way more reckless abandon waaaaaayyyyyy more but to my knowledge never had one drive it self.

There was a golf course a few blocks away from my house when I was an adolescent. We had one of those goofy two-seater bikes and would take it down and ride it on the course after dark. It was always fun to outrun the guys on carts. They never caught us once. ;D

That was poetic. He is a former Navy Seal and remembered his technique when they used to bail from the boat. Perfect execution!
