4th and 17th from the NE 37 with about 2:30 left.

This is the play that Tebow took the 28 yard sack.

Denver should have kicked the FG instead, and I was miffed at the decision not to kick the FG. They needed 3 scores, likely needing a FG anyway. I was still thinking 2 onside kicks and 2 quick touchdowns after kicking a FG.

4Th and 1 was stupid.

And passing on 2nd down with 50 secs left was really stupid.

If we didn't turn the ball over in this game....It would have been 28-23, and an entirely different game.

The bottom line is this:

If you are the Denver Broncos, you can play with anyone in the league, if you play your best game and don't turn the ball over.

3 Turnovers and our Defense didn't get one.

When you lose the turnover batttle 3-0...you lose.

That pretty much sums it up.

One of the big keys of the streak was the fact that we didnt turn the ball over.

We flat out aren't talented enough to be able to overcome those mistakes against anyone, let alone a 10-3 team.

We had our shot to beat NE. We ended up beating ourselves.

Meh.

On to Buffalo.

No really didn't matter at that point.

If he would of converted it and scored a TD that drive then we talk onside kicks and stuffs.

In this game he converted a 3rd and 18 so why not give him a chance to convert the 4th and 17.

If you wanna pin a mistake on Fox pin the 3 and out at the end of the half on him, he should of ran the clock out went into halftime and regrouped.

Yup - I said before. They key to beating the good teams is not beating yourself first. That's exactly what happened today.

Fox really left me scratching my head on this one.

After being Mr. Conservative for the entire season, he decided to "open things up" when he had Tebow pass on 1st AND 2nd downs right at the end of the 1st half. Imagine that!

Totally the wrong move.

But I guess everyone's entitled to a bad game. Cosby had one today; so did Fox and the D Coordinator for Denver.

There were mistakes made but broncos still had a nice run. Now can they win these last 2 games. Hell they might only need to win 1 of them who knows. Let's face it Pats have more weapons then we do. Broncos need a player on offense that scares the other team. Someone that dominates.

Still the team really trying hard to win and I respect that. It gives me a reason to watch. Let's see what happens but the big thing IMO is still Doom got healthy, Clady played all the games, Miller is a good player, we kept Champ etc etc. If we can improve as much next offseason as we did this offseason we will be a pretty good ball club. Who knows if Vickerson and Warren come back that could even help.

This is it. Glad to see you're a little more rational than you were in the game thread.

Boy ppl just want to rag on Fox. He's too conservative he needs to open it up. He should have been more conserative yesterday. Was it Fox's fault that Crosby muffed a fumble or Ayers extended the NE drive to start the 2nd half. Those were the two big plays that could have made the outcome different or atleast competive. Hardly the coaches fault. Take those two bonehead plays away and it's tebow time in the forth. 2 plays. Not the 4th and 17 should have kicked a FG and recovered two onside kicks blah blah bah

You guys crack me up.

When we had 4th and one in the redzone with the momentum while playing the Patriots is when Fox ought to have gone for it on 4th down. Fox is a horrible headcoach.

Truthfully you are correct. If Fox wants to use the NFL coaches manual for every play in the game he should have kicked the field goal.

I am more upset that in no situation does he ever entertain going for it on 4th and 1...especially against a team with a great offense.

Turnovers where the result of Fox going to the well one too many times with the run game against Belichick, that is all there is to it. Foxes sabotaging one dimensional scheme came back and bit him in the ass.

LOL Tebow fumbled on a passing play. You should probably consider actually watching the games.

I'm not sure how much I actually pin that one on Tebow - when a guy breaks into the backfield, unblocked, bad things happen. A refresher on ball control is never a bad idea, however.

If people want to criticize Fox on anything, it should be clock management at the end of the first half. I realize you don't expect your punt return man to have a brain freeze and muff a ball he should let bounce into the endzone - but that comedy of errors was an early 3 point gift from Santa for the Pats.

My point wasn't to blame Tebow. It was to counter Broncbow's idiotic point that it was Fox's fault due to conservative play calling.

But now that you bring it up, I agree there was too much pressure on that play but Tebow needs to take care of the ball there. He saw the pressure coming, unlike Brady who got blindsided by Doom and managed to hold on to the ball.

You can argue that Foxes conservative scheme did not cost the turnovers, that is fine by me, I get it, but no way in hell you make the claim that his conservative playcalling did not cost us the game.

Tebow getting the ball 20 times in the 4th, without one RB touching the ball, and then to allow him to pass it only three times in the each of the other quarters on average? How one dimensional can you get? Fox is a horrible head coach.

John Fox was outcoached and how.

2) you shouldn't waste your time :)

There is another active thread about how much the Oline sucks. The problem is that on one play the OLine blows open a hole for a long run. On the next, Tebow gets a good amount of time for a pass play. And on the next, a guy is completely unblocked and Tebow is running for his life. I don't think it's fair to say the Line play sucks 'in toto', but there are more than a few plays where guys fly into the backfield with nary a hand laid on them and Tebow is breaking into his tasmanian devil routine. Tebow fumbles too much (just like he did against Chicago) because he isn't protecting the ball properly. And there are too many jailbreak plays where somebody is completely missed in pass protection. Maybe it's experience (Brady only had that problem on the Dumverville assault). Maybe it's holding (the Pats have some sticky-fingered linemen). I don't know.
