You put Praterís name up big deal if he can't make the kicks he had make today he doesn't belong in the NFL. Tebow was the story today, after the D had keep them close for him the last the 4 games this time he deserves full credit for making the big plays to make this win happen. Total team win I understand but I love how immediately the doubters and haters out there want to run interference and minimize how well he played today.

Leave it to Popps to put up a Kicker thread after the best game Tebow has played as a Pro and the worst defensive effort by the D in this win streak.

The men fighting it out on the field today won the game. He came and for a couple plays and did the job expected of him. End of story.

I give cred for the whole team for the win today,

Is Prater on the team?

but Kickers are suppose to make kicks like these he don't deserve some special attaboy for making kicks any good NFL Kicker can make.

I've said this before many times...think about your youth when you played football either in school or on sandlot...I have made amazing throws, catches, runs, interceptions and tackles...but I've never been able to kick an XP...let alone a 59 yard FG in a pressure situation. It's not as easy as it seems, if it was many people would be doing it

The men fighting it out on the field today won the game. He came and for a couple plays and did the job expected of him. End of story.

His KO's also helped the team out clown...maybe if your man-crush would complete passes in the first 3 qtrs, prater could make it on the field for more than a "couple of plays" as you say...

But please let's make Prater the big story, like it not the big story was Tebow making the critical throws today.

Tebow is a big part of the story...it's not like they say that "Prater did it again..." on ESPN or Fox postgame show despite his being the guy that scored the final points in a few of these amazing come from behind wins...Popps isn't trashing Tebow by giving Prater his due as one clutch kicker, but you however are trashing Prater to soothe your butt hurt about tim not being given 100% of the credit

Something all the haters said he had yet to do,

He still needs to make those throws with more consistency (1st-3rd qtrs) or am I hating on tim for saying that?

Willis, Thomas and the OL played great today also.

Willis played well granted, but thomas while catching the TD and couple other clutch catches was also the primary reason we needed to come down from 10-0 instead of being up 14-10 on what would have been his 2nd TD catch..He hindered as much as he helped to be fair...Bears sacked Tim 4 times...and McGahee had 34 yards rushing on 17 carries, and allowed penetration that led to blocked FG.... I give the OL a B- or C+ for today's performance

Tebow had 3 rushing attempts and over 200 yards of timely passing yards and the TD passes, so excuse if I don't get all excited about a Kicker.

Tebow had 12 carries for 49 yards....and he had his share of bad throws and dropped balls as well...he was very instrumental in our winning the game...nobody said he wasn't...but his scramble for no gain was why Prater was kicking a 59 yarder vs a 55 or 56 yarder...and to add insult to your already existing injury, Tim Tebow himself gave his team mates including Prater (i think he called him "clutch" if memory serves me right) by saying that his team mates make him look good

Prater is money. Flat out money.

He's carrying on the awesome tradition of Jason Elam with long-distance kicks and clutch kicks. He's definitely one of my favorite unsung hero Broncos.

Yeah, I mean Elam is still by far the greatest/clutchest kicker in franchise history. Dude did it for year after year. But I just don't recall seeing many kickers in recent history have this kind of season from beyond 50 at the end of multiple games.

Hope we can continue to be in these kinds of games for years to come, because I think Prater has an opportunity to really make a legacy for himself if he gets more of those opportunities.

Saw this in the Research Notes section of this page: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=311211007

From Elias: Matt Prater has kicked a pair of 50-yard FG in overtime this season (52-yard FG in Week 7 at Miami; 51-yard FG Sunday vs Bears). The only kicker previously with 2 CAREER 50-yard FG in overtime was Greg Davis, who had one in 1989 and one in 1994.

Has done in one season something only one other kicker in history has been able to do in an entire career.

Granted that may have a little to do with Denver playing especially conservatively in OT when they get to around the 35 yd line, but kudos to him for rewarding their faith in him at that distance.
