But if he get's two feet down with control of the ball, then it should be ruled a score, REGARDLESS of what happens after he falls down. This is the point I am making on the NFL Touchdown catch rule, and I'll won't let this go until the NFL changes this.

Why would it, when Tebow actually looks good throwing the ball when they actually let him do it?

Not sure if serious...

He is UNDER 50%!! He has a 45% completion rate! He has in the thirties on third down!! He has one or two "dead on" passes a game, that's it! Many are off just a bit.. or off by a ton. Holy crap.. how did this QB sell himself to so many fans so completely? He has intangibles. He can rush. He has TROUBLE PASSING! That's why the game plan is what it is. Not because our entire coaching staff are morons.

And today, the Vikings are playing some dedicated coverage. They are showing discipline. That's how you stop the college-style option offense. It's why the Wildcat is no longer widely used. Below average passer, with a gimmick style run offense, once figured out, means we do squat. 3 and out.. over and over again.

Passing offense way too predictable, keys to possessing a solid passing offense is to keep it from being what John Fox has it being.

It is one predictable pass play after another, your not exploiting the opponent this way, you allow them to expoit you.

That is exactly what Fox wants the opponent to do, exploit Tebow in the passing game rather than the other way around by refusing to allow him to pass it on first downs outside of of playing from behind. This is totally killing this scoring offense. Fox has got to stop allowing the opponents passing defense to exploit Tebow with one obvious pass play after another.

No it hasn't. The rule has always been that the ground can ONLY cause a fumble if the ball carrier is not touched. You can fall down and fumble it, but you can not be down by contact and have the ground cause a fumble.

Broncos get a pick 6 for TD, get a huge fumble return when Vikings were deep in Denver territory, and what is the score to show for this?

Denver down by 8.

I am sorry, but this game, moreso than any other this whole season has exposed how stupid the coaching is, and how stupid John Elway is.

Coaching is stupid for predictable playcalling. Denver will not sustain their winning with this stupid predictable offense.

Elway is STUPID for trading away a WR that would have made catches that DeMarious can't.

brncs_fan
12-04-2011, 11:40 AM
The ground can not cause a fumble if your body hits the ground first. Since no part of Tebow had touched the ground before the ball, then it is a fumble.

That is what I understand from what they were saying about it.

How many of those were behind a receiver, or at their feet? People for some reason, are not willing to admit a ROOKIE is having some passing issues. No.. Tebow is the second coming of Elway or something, and all our problems are horrible receivers, stupid coaches, and anyone who questions Tebow is a bad fan and a "hater."

Halftime thoughts:

WTF are these refs doing? I think DT was out of bounds on that catch but it didn't look conclusive to me. Ponder calls timeout twice in a row which I thought should have been a penalty. If not the refs should have let the clock run down to a delay of game. Instead, they do neither and give them 10 seconds to get the snap off. That Tebow one was not a fumble. Ground can't cause a fumble when you are being tackled.

3 false starts

McGahee fumble

Tebow will get the blame but that is completely unfair.

Goodman sucks

Home field call on that "fumble" by Tebow. He was down.

They need to do some more passing in the second half. Breaks are just not going our way so far....Defense was awesome the first quarter but they are wearing themselves out. Terrible on that 3rd and 16 call when we dropped 8 into coverage and Goodman was asleep.

Tebow is doing all right in the passing dept....we need to get some consistancy going...Stop thinking that Run, run is going to get much better.
Gets some yards via the pass, and start sliding Tebow around more.

Fumbles by Mcgahee and Tebow are not our game....

We need to move the ball and get maybe 3 at leasat to open the second half....and start making some plays Offense!

When a runner goes to the ground head first and the ball hits the turf and popps out....he's down. What's the diff???

the ball hit the ground before any other part of his body did. in most cases when someone hits the ground the ball is tucked in & the forearm hits which puts the person down by contact.

When a passing play only has a 45% of being a success, it is called less often. That's just the way it is. The coaches are being called stupid. However, they are doing a brilliant job. Clueless fans don't realize just how good a job they have done, especially McCoy.

Get real it's the same playcalling that has won 5 of 6 games and poeple only bitch when it doesn't work

We do need to throw more, but our protection is so bad right now I'm not sure it is going to be that effective. Bad receiver and interior o-line play kill offenses...

Defense is playing pretty well, but can't be expected to be on the field the entire half.

It's clear that McCoy doesn't trust Tebow to throw the ball against one of the most banged up secondaries in the league. 46 yards is horrendous. Minnesota is stopping the run. Simple as that.

With the exception of the ridiculous 2nd timeout situation, the officials have been decent.

D.T.'s foot was clearly out and Tebow fumbled the ball. Neither one was a bad call.

Pretty straightforward, Minnesota is going force Tebow to throw to win this game. We'll see if McCoy lets him.

Why did his knee have to be down??

When a runner goes to the ground head first and the ball hits the turf and popps out....he's down. What's the diff???

Nothing happened to make the play dead. Simple as that.

Imagine a running back with 20 yards separating him from anyone else on the field...He sets the ball on the ground while still firmly in his hand and then lets go and runs away from it.

Free ball or "ground can't cause a fumble"?

You are an imbecile, if you think the way they only call passing plays on third down until clutch situations doesn't effect that success rate. It's not that we are saying Tebow hasn't had his struggles. We're saying that you still need to throw, and throw on more than just third down, if you want to have prolonged offensive success. The run game has had a pretty poor success rate as well in many of the games we've played, and we keep doing that don't we?

How many of those were behind a receiver, or at their feet? People for some reason, are not willing to admit a ROOKIE is having some passing issues. No.. Tebow is the second coming of Elway or something, and all our problems are horrible receivers, stupid coaches, and anyone who questions Tebow is a bad fan and a "hater."

He isn't a ROOKIE and many of those drops are very catchable. I seem to argue for both points here.
