Rams activate Brandstater; Bradford’s status shaky

In the clearest sign yet that Sam Bradford has an uphill battle to play in Sunday’s game, the Rams activated quarterback Tom Brandstater from the practice squad on Saturday.

The team released linebacker Ben Leber to make room.

Bradford barely practiced this week after aggravating his ankle sprain in last week’s loss to the Cardinals. Bradford missed practice Thursday and was “very limited” in practice on Friday according to coach Steve Spagnuolo.

It’s starting to look like A.J. Feeley will start in a tough matchup Sunday in San Francisco. Feeley has started two games this year, including the Rams’ upset win over the Saints. (Although Feeley didn’t play great that day.)

If Bradford is out, Brandstater would back Feeley up. The 49ers are two touchdown favorites at this point and that number could be going up.

Then again, it’s not like the Rams passing offense can get a lot worse than they have been over the last month.

Why'd KC waste all that cash picking up Orton when they could have just signed Brandstater off STL's P-Squad? Likewise, why'd we ever start Orton when was Brandstater around? [/Orton bash]

Bump - Brandstater to start

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/12/08/america-start-preparing-for-brandstater/

Tom Brandstater has been with five NFL teams since being drafted in the fifth round of the 2009 draft by the Denver Broncos. (It wasn’t so long ago Brandstater was briefly ahead of Tim Tebow (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/05/17/tebow-starts-fourth-on-the-depth-chart/) on the depth chart.)

Brandstater has never made a throw in an NFL game, but it sure looks like he’s going to make his first NFL start on Monday Night Football. Brandstater took all the first team snaps at Rams practice Thursday.

I am surprised the Rams did not make us a 1st round pick offer for Lonnie (Bob) Paxton. He is the cog that makes mCd's machine sorta work.

You are not going Wally Pipp on us, are you? Or for those that don't get the reference, Drew Bledsoe on us, are you?

Brandstater gives them the best chance to win.

Not with that team or McD as their offensive coordinator.

Good luck Brandstater. Still don't get why we replaced you with Adam Weber...

Dude drafted Tebow, so I can't bring myself to hate him as much as I would otherwise. Without McD we are still suffering under the yoke of the Frown Cannon and his completely uninspiring brand of football...

Oh and yes, I'm serious. McD's offense is pure dog**** this year.

Dude, besides Jizz, Strafen is in love with Frown Cannon. He was liking you until you mentioned those horrible words on his LOVA. Remember, he drafted him for some reason but thought it was stupid to use him on goal line situations when we could only get field goals. He only started being used when he got ****canned. Oh, enough about McDaniels. His offense sucks and now he gets to use the guy that he left out to die. Poor kid gets his first start and he has to play for McD and that ****ty offense.

I'd sure take Cutler over Orton any day. To think there were people here at one point glad we've had Orton over Cutler, was pretty disturbing...

Mcd's Mcoffense has scored 140 points this season worst in the nfl-duh. 140 points in december! with last years hot young qb and steven jackson in the backfield.
Frown cannon has turned into a pretty good qb by the way-i guess you never noticed how he never points fingers and berates his teamates like peyton gump and in the old days (no ring) dan marino. O and are you going to bring up how he left the nfccg kinda like elway did the same thing against the Bills (the pussy)?

Jay Cutler's "growth" consists of no longer throwing teammates under the bus and giving the ball to Matt Forte whenever possible. Wow. Dude looks totally worth two first round picks in that light.

And FYI, the Rams suck because all but a handful of their players suck. Their defense sucks, does that mean Spagnuolo doesn't know **** about defense after having killer DL units in Philly and a great defense as DC in NY? Billy Devaney is a POS GM who hasn't drafted a difference maker for that team YET despite multiple top 5 picks. The closest he's come is Bradford and Laurinaitis. Both promising, the second is actually already good, but neither take over a game for you.

I really can't understand how there are still people defending McDaniels.
Are you kidding me?
What he did in Denver and what he's done with the Rams, just prove how overrated the guy is.
His offense prowess in New England now looks like he's got nothing to do with it, as Tom Brady keeps lightining it up, while the Rams hit rock bottom is offensive statistics almost across the board... :strong:
