ABC is reporting that Norv Turner will be fired at the end of the season. Also AJ Smith could be fired as well. Team source says the decision has not been made, but things are "lined up".

We have only beaten the Chargers twice while Rivers and Norv have been together.

Ed Hoculi won us one of them.

3 times that I can think of off the top of my head:

Hochuli game

The Monday (Sunday?) Night game in McD's only winning streak

and last week.

Once again the alleged "NFL's most talented team" falls on it's face...never heard of such an underachieving team getting so much love from the media pointy heads

Norv: "So am I fired?"

Owner: "No, no, relax. You're not fired. But you will be."

Exactly, now that he'll be asked questions about it every five minutes, I give it two weeks. Might as well kick the tires on an assistant.

I can see that. AJ hasn't had good drafts.

Norv has done well with what he had to work with, though. AJ's drafts have been pretty bad. There's about zero starters there, and he traded up to get to almost zero.

They will both be fired, Spanos Jr wants to run the team so he needs to bring in a puppet GM for a couple of years until he is ready to take full control.

I think the reason they are not firing Turner now is that they have nobody on the coaching staff whom they would want to take over, so instead of giving a position coach or coordinator some games as HC (like we did) and then be obliged to interview that guy and subsequently not hire him just makes things awkward. I am hearing some people are speculating they are lining up Chudzinski as their new HC.

If you thought that was odd, Rick Neuheisel coached the UCLA Bruins last night while already fired as the head coach

The same guy they let go to Carolina to be the OC? I have a feeling that SD will and probably get a big name coach. I can see Jeff Fisher going to SD in a heartbeat.

How many coaches will Tebow and the Tebow critics get fired this season?

The Tebow critics have mocked Tebow so much that when he beats these teams the fans are outraged.. lol

I'm surprised Kubiak didn't get fired last season when TT got him too..

Good lord, the crown of AJ's drafts is Ryan Matthews with 10 TD's in 22 games. LMAO. AJ wanted Moreno real bad, McD drafted him ahead of SD, so AJ drafted Larry English (whoops), then they cut LaDainian and trade up about 8 spots to draft Ryan Matthews who doesn't produce. And I believe AJ traded a future #2 to draft Jacob Hester. Norv isn't the problem.

I wonder what SD would look like now if they had been able to draft Moreno with Sproles on the roster already. Might have turned out a lot different.

Rivers, McNeil, VJ, Weddle, Cromatie, Micheal Turner, Sproles, Gates,Merriman, Phillips, Castillo

You may hate him but that is a damn good group of players to build a team around and I total disagree AJ hasn't had good drafts. You can't hit a home run every year damn there are alot ton of top notch players All Pro players to be exact

AJ only drafted Weddle. And he traded up to get him. He might have drafted McNeil, I don't recall.

I don't believe Norv has. I think Marty's former team has and Rivers has. What we are seeing now is Norv's team and the expected result of Norv's touch.

The Tebow Death March -- Sparano, Toddy Haley, Norv Turner. Even with Rex Ryan, you get the feeling that was a signature loss if he hadn't recovered from it. (I don't mean he could have gotten fired this year, but if he doesn't extricate himself from the Sanchez-Bag-of-Hot-Fail, it will take him down like the no-quarterback situation took down Billick).

not sure what 'pwned' means but i'm neutral about norv in SD but AJ smith is a mcdaniels caliber clown

1. pwned

A corruption of the word "Owned." This originated in an online game called Warcraft, where a map designer misspelled "owned." When the computer beat a player, it was supposed to say, so-and-so "has been owned."

Instead, it said, so-and-so "has been pwned."

It means "to own" or to be dominated by an opponent or situation, especially by some god-like or computer-like force.

Basically, if you're young and you don't spell it the "corrupted way", it shows you're not so cool. Hahahah, I bet 90% of these young punks don't even know how that word came to be. The rest of the kids all say and spell it like that so they just fall in line like baby ducks following the mama duck to the pond.............lol. ROFL!

They drafted well in 2004, 2005, 2006 and thus were very competitive in the AFC after those guys matured and gelled in there 3rd and 4th season. Merriman was every bit the HR that Von Miller has been before the injury and performance enhancing issues. I still think MCD was worse as a draft scouter and person who assembles rosters.

MCD was only right on Tebow although he overpaid for the pick, Decker, and our OL picks. Jury is still out on Moreno and Ayers but they are probably only going to be average at best type players that should have came in RD's 2 and 3. Likely the same with D.Thomas who he took over that azz clown Bryant.

In all honesty, Norv got the crap end of the stick this year. The Chargers had the same kind of cascading injury problems that we have enjoyed here in Denver the last couple years. Put Philip Rivers behind a solid / stable O-line and this is still a dangerous team. If a guy like Cowher comes in and reworks their defense, they could be extremely good.

But it is nice to watch them fail...

Fisher, Cowher, Reid I could see SD getting a great coach because the talent is still top notch. AJ smith may be out due to personality not talent of his drafts
