He did a decent amount of studio work for the UK's piss poor coverage of the NFL last year.

Hasn't been on there this year though.

This is an hilarious read. Van Pelt talking about how he chose not to be a big star like Deion Sanders....

Good for him. I think wine's a waste of time but then again so was his pro career.

I would have totally pegged BVP as a boxed wine kind of dude.

I think I'm pretty good at reading comprehension. But that last paragraph; I can't figure out if he is confirming or denying if he is gay.

BVP has always been for good for the LOLz.

Sideways was a funny movie. I love when the gf smacks the guy in the nose with the motorcycle helmet. Ha!

Good god I tried to read some of that article and my eyes started to bleed.

Yeah, it starts to get really weird:

I asked you before if you were gay, because–were they looking at you that way? “Dude, you’re not married, you’re swirling wine…?”

Yeah. You know, I can’t say anyone ever thought I was gay, but I could see from the course of when I was quite young, to today, I’ve gotten along with both heterosexual people and with homosexual people, and at times, people have joked, they’ve thrown out, “You must be gay or something, because you don’t seem to really chase women.” I mean, male contact is perfectly fine with me, touching someone. A lot of things didn’t bother me. But at the same time, I could see how that created a lot of interesting relationships with people, because I was very open, and I never was scared or worried about another male’s responsiveness.

Ummm...

Lol! That interview is comic gold. Because what the world was really missing was a comprehensive, in depth, two part interview with a guy that got a cup of coffee in the NFL five years ago and is now into wine.

BVP chose to not be Deion Sanders because he didn't want to be like his dad who used to pull mad females.

Awesome.

Quit football.
Not interested in women.
Would rather swirl wine.
Fabulous.

Yao Ming is also now a vintner (aside for spider, vintner=winemaker). clearly Dr. Evil is behind this trend.

I had some of Yao Ming's wine. But then I was thirsty again like 30 minutes later.

So, is the guy on the right Bradlee Van Pelt? It couldn't be, right?

BVP must have done that interview assuming that no one who watched the NFL would ever read it.

I'd guess bi. On a scale of 0-5 on the straight (being 0) to gay (being 5) I'd say he is a 4. So if he happens to be with a guy and they knock boots, it wont make him go crazy and pull a gun on someone in Alabama.

In the 2005 regular season finale at San Diego, I thought Van Pelt's 10 carry, 41 yard rushing game with only two passing attempts was over the top. On this site at the time, there were many jokes here where fans mentioned "single-wing offense" and "leather helmets".

I wonder what BVP's upside would have been in our current offense.

His TD run at Arrowhead that season was very Tebow-like.

I was thinking the same thing, loved when Shanny brought him in for one play to run the QB draw, KFC was confused and didnt know what to do.

Shanny confused KFC's D a couple times, there was the time he lined up in a triple wing and handed the ball off to Portis who took it up the middle for a 40+ yard TD. That is one of my favorite post SB run plays.

This sounds like the way Darrell Russell's career went only it didn't shake out this way for him:
" he’d fallen in love with wine, and decided to devote the rest of his life to learning about it and succeeding in a wine career."

Instead Russell fell in love with video taping rapes and went to jail.

Then you have Jarmarcus Russell who fell in love with Drank and went to jail.

Sounds to me like after a long night of swirling wine he don't care who he goes home with, just doubling his chances like Woody Allen used to say.

Or an excuse to sit under a viaduct drinking from a paper bag.

Didn't Disco post here about having Jager shots with him the Friday before the game.

Plus wasn't he living downtown when he was 1st drafted and Shanny told him to find a place away from lodo where he wouldn't be tempted to get all liquored up?
