I saw this stupid video and it got me thinking

If someone like Miami or Jacksonville would give us the same deal as Chicago gave us for Cutler do you think EFX would trade him. Personally I want to keep him, but I am talking from a management prospective only.

Of course they would. Not a chance anyone offers us something like that though. Cutler was coming off a 4000 yard season with us, while Tebow has a lot of question marks to go along with his promise. And really Chicago massively overpaid for Cutler as it was.

Would we have to take Kyle orton again?

are you kidding? if Miami or Jacksonville tossed us 2-1sts, a 3rd and a QB for Tebow and a 5th, they would take that in a heart beat. in fact Elway would make Xanders go down and pack Tebow's luggage and escort him to the plane.

and as much as i like Tebow, if that deal came, i would be clammoring for them to do the deal.

It would be interesting to find out where Tebow would have been drafted and by whom if not the broncos. Someone in the media should make some calls and write a story on it.

This.

Although we've had a nice run lately, I'm still skeptical about his pure skills as a QB. I wouldn't give him away for anything, but if the offer was substantial, then I would move him.

Not going to happen. Cutler was a 25 year old pro bowler.

Why do people always want to trade everything? We are winning. Deal with it.

Hopefully we have learned from the history of trading players like Cutler, Marshall, Hillis, and Sheffler. We have had a lot of trouble replacing them with the picks and player aquired for them. We did not advance our team at all, in fact we have a major talent void on our roster because of it. Our roster is full of really new players and really old veterans, with not much in between. The in between represents players in their prime, that have already developed, but haven't yet lost a step. We need to continue to develop our young players, not trade them. Keep an influx of young players that are being trained and groomed, not trade the draft picks. Sign veteran stop-gaps for a few areas of need, not dominate our roster with them.

If we stick with Tebow, and not trade the farm to draft another QB, but continue to build the roster, then I think we can make a real push in the near future. Stay the course.

Not only would EFX consider trading Tebow if Jacksonville stepped up..

Tebow himself would be willing to re-do his contract I am sure. A chance to go home and play on his old stomping grounds? Are you kidding me...

Tebow is only human and if he could control anything in his life you know he would do what he could to help make this happen.

EFX would do it for a lot less than "Cutler compensation." I'm thinking one first rounder alone would probably do it.

Just to be clear, I wouldn't. I just think THEY would.

At this point there would be no better way to alienate the fans than to trade away Tebow. If he gets us into the playoffs ( a good possibility), then trading him ( no matter what the compensation was ) would be seen as FAIL by the fans, and worse would be seen as mismanagement. Even if he only goes 8-8 ( about the worst case possible now), he has given the Broncos some respectability ( something that Orton couldn't do).

Cutler being traded away when he didn't WANT to be here was seen as a FO fail back then. Worse the picks that we got were then mostly failures , so it became even worse. And Cutler never got us into the playoffs, although he has done that with Chicago. Hindsight is 20-20 and this is an indicator that you never trade away your best player at any position.

McDaniels made a lot of apparent mistakes, and the trading of Gaffney and Lloyd for peanuts is already being questioned.

We really don't have to worry about this scenario, because:
1. Nobody would offer us even equal value ( at least a first round pick, or the three picks we gave up to draft Tebow) becuase he is not seen as a long term answer by other teams.
2. FO are not completely stupid and realise that TT is a fan favorite with on field results to match his popularity. Gimmick or not, he is winning. Winning is the trump card.
3. He is improving every game, and an off season should help him.
4. There are no sure things in the draft.
5. His contract is already mostly paid for.

I don't think the OP was saying he wanted to trade Tebow. He is probably my favorite player in the league. But if a team with a top 5-10 pick were offering a couple firsts for Tebow, I would do it no questions asked!

Why are you even considering it if you like Tebow? Why not make some Miller trade threads? Why are we discussing giving away players? Why would any Bronco fan think the McDaniels way is smart?

why not? everyone knows miller isn't going anywhere. Tebow hasn't established himself as the QBOTF.

So Tebow hasn't established himself, which means we should consider what happens if a team offers multiple firsts for him.

Do you guys even try thinking this stuff through?

Do you guys even try thinking this stuff through?no one is going to give a 2nd or 3rd for tebow. so anyone thinking we'll get multiple 1st is out of their ****ing mind. There isn't a team out there willing to trade for a limited QB.

Last time we made that trade we ended up with....Robert ayers for our pro bowl QB. Bad trade. Xanders is sphincter boy.
