Vic and Gary on the Ticket just said that a source from Denver said:

1. Von Miller broke his thumb and had surgery today.
2. He'll still be able to play this week.

Anyone else hear anything?

I had a compound triple fracture of my thumb years ago and they installed a plate to fuse the pieces. I never had it removed and now I am able to open cans with my fingers and predict cold fronts. Just saying.

Seriously though. I hopee it wasn't bad and he heals quickly.

Few things are cooler than seeing someone rush and sack the passer with one of those big clubs on their hand.

In fact, I always create a giant DT on Madden named Pink Floyd and he wears those big white clubs on both hands just for the intimidation factor. The best is when he intercepts a pass...

No ****. If anyone that needed to step up his game as we canned veteran wrs, it was Royal. You don't get many throws from Tebow so when they are good enough to catch, you better deliver. As for Miller, we need to match up with Miller in there. Not sure how his tackling will be affected but his pressure is a must.

The Broncos may have to play the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday without star linebacker Von Miller and No. 2 receiver Eddie Royal.
Miller, a rookie with 10 ˝ sacks through 11 games, underwent surgery Tuesday to repair torn ligaments in his thumb. He suffered the injury late in the fourth quarter of the Broncos’ 16-13 overtime win at San Diego. Miller refused to come out of the game. After getting taped, he made a crucial defensive stop in overtime, tackling running back Ryan Mathews for a 4-yard loss. That pushed the Chargers’ game-winning field goal attempt back to 53 yards, from where Nick Novak’s boot faded wide right.

Ordinarily, this type of thumb injury would keep Miller out at least week, but he has vowed to try and play at Minnesota.

He made two plays for sure after he got it taped up. The one where he hit Rivers' arm while he was throwing (though he did use his uninjured hand to beat the tackle) and the crucial 4 yard loss late in OT.

If Miller doesn't play not sure we can play good defense. Doom then gets doubled ever passing down and we get 0 pressure. That is how fast it can all change for Broncos because we have no depth.

technically it would be 8 fingers and 2 thumbs but still funnier then hell.

Von Miller, missed practice Wednesday after undergoing a surgical procedure to repair a strained ligament in his right thumb, which he hurt at San Diego last weekend.

Sounds like it's not broken, it's only a sprain. I'm sure they'll tape it up and he'll be good to go. I still think he'll get a sack. It may have happened when he hit Rivers arm. There's no way I see this holding him out of the game. They might play him fewer downs, but I seriously doubt he will be in street clothes.

Was really disappointed not to be able to see Miller play at the game on Sunday. I hadn't seen this thread and was wondering why he wasn't suited. Couldn't figure out why he couldn't still play but I guess it was because they were worried about the sutures. At least he'll be back next week....I hope.
