did anyone see that? i didn't. i don't mind it though. kind of a payback for some of Rivers' antics over the past few years.
"I told everyone I was going to [do the Tebow] late in overtime, I knew Tebow was going to win for us," Carter said. "Philip Rivers gave me a little look when I did it, but that’s OK … I wanted to celebrate for our quarterback. We’re riding with him and he’s riding with us. Who cares about his throwing motion or a hitch or whatever. We are winning with him."

keep in mind, i know full well the Broncos are winning as a team. this is not Tebow winning games. this is everybody stepping up and making plays.

All the while, Tebow is showing great ball security. He has turned over the ball only once in 236 touches this season.
This helps.

Yeah, he mentioned during his presser he feels there are some times where he could be more aggressive but you can tell they are definitely coaching him up on ball securing and not making big mistakes. I think some of that timidness will go away as he keeps playing. There were some dropped balls today that would have kept drives alive. I didn't see any real horrible passes today. A few throw aways but that's expected.

Kind of funny that the reason the switch wasn't made earlier was because the players loved Orton. Seriously, I have heard they loved Orton.

Seems to me at this point they are saying, Orton who!

So not cool, so not cool on so many levels. That is like the anti-football video. Actually Jitterbug is THE anti-football but this is so damn close.

Tebow you man!

Not true, Nick. WHAM is the official music of the OM weekly podcast (well...its the co-official music, along with the venerable Guile's theme), so its definitely not anti-football.

Winning changes everyone's attitude.

you can be the greatest guy in the world and a cool dude to grab a beer with, but if you are tanking on the field and get replaced by someone completely opposite by you who does your job better, eventually all your friends will move on without you.

Who cares about his throwing motion or a hitch or whatever.

Funny to read something like that. Players are just people, too. They can't help but get caught up in this.

Well, to be fair they Orton'ed too.

They played losing football...mimicking Ortie all the way.

Humorous that he did it but hopefully they're not getting arrogant about winning. Taunt your opposition after a 30 point win not after an overtime victory that VERY easily could've been a loss.

Very valid point. They played down to Orton. And now with Tebow everyone is playing to full potential. Crazy and awesome.

Well in reality many players meet at midfield and pray or Tebow if you will.

He clearly said he did it in celebration of Tebow. It just coincidentally happened at mid-field?

Considering how often chargers defenders hit Tebow, got up and then acted like they beat God in an arm wrestling contest, Tebowing at midfield AFTER the game was decided is not that big a deal.

Did not moore suffer a concussion a few weeks ago?

It's great to see the players responding to Tim's leadership..... but I think the main reason they're playing better is dumervil and williams have returned to health.... and with both doom and miller pressuring the quarterback... our secondary can stick with their man

I'd be guessing the older vets were the ones who were more pro-Orton.

Isn't it twice? The pick 6 and the sack-strip-td, both against Detroit?

I imagine that it was only Brandon Lloyd; who was trying to earn his final big deal.

Close but i'm pretty sure he fumbled once and threw one pick.

Still, that's only turning it over twice all year - can't beat that with a stick.

Four drops in eighteen attempts is pretty brutal. I'll say that much.

I'm one of those heretics who isn't so sure Tebow is the long term answer but I am sure enjoying the ride.

I say that so that everyone knows where I come from when I make the following statement:

My brother in law (former D1 QB) and I were wondering yesterday when everyone would stop talking so much about Tebow throwing a less than perfect pass and START talking about his receivers dropping so many perfectly catchable balls.

This is what happens when you give away your two top receivers without even attempting to replace them.

The receivers are the common denominator between two QBs this year. Compare dropped balls with Orton to dropped balls with Tebow. I have a feeling drops went up when Tebow came on the scene.

That being said, did Carter drop a lot of balls yesterday?

Take Lloyd out of the equation. Were we talking about receivers dropped balls with Orton?

Either they weren't dropping balls so it must come down to something to do with Tebow

Or

They WERE dropping balls and Tebow then has the same issues that Orton did and people are just making excuses.

Only exception being if Lloyd was the only receiver not dropping balls. In that case, nobody should've been faulting Orton for looking Lloyd's way so much if it was his only sure-handed receiver.

Which scenario fits the bill?

Bit of both.

WRs were dropping a few balls on Orton but that's overlooked for a few reasons.

1. Orton was an embarrassment to this franchise and he didn't warrant excuses.
2. They weren't as significant or noticeable because Orton had a lot more attempts than Tebow.
3. Tebow gets blasted for his completion % so people respond more readily with reasons why it's not higher.

The WRs are dropping more with Tebow though. No idea why.

Not having Lloyd in there is almost certainly part of it. That, and balls thrown by lefties spin in the opposite direction.

Or, receivers are dropping balls now and Orton is in KC. I'm not sure what past play has to do with it. Having a real number one receiver opens up others though. It isn't as hard to catch when you are fighting through less defenders. Lloyd made the catches on the one on one deep throws, where many drops are happening. Royal, who has multiple drops, wasn't even getting the ball thrown his way.

The difference is having a good receiving corps with Lloyd, and having a mediocre one without him. Coverage was rolled toward Lloyd. People doubled Lloyd. This made other receivers jobs easier.

well not so much that... as the ball comes out a little different I am ambidextrous , naturally we wasnt pros , but they hated me throwing left handed , said it just didnt look right .......

Carter was a steal in the draft, he was named a First Team All-American at OU in 2010 but his stock dropped when he ran a 4.57 at the Combine.

Bump.

I don't think Carter has gotten enough praise. He is looking damn good out there, started out pretty rough this season but it looks like he feels a lot more comfortable and every week he looks better, As of now, he looks a lot better than Rahim Moore, I still have high hopes for Moore but Carter is a nice asset to have he is such a sure tackler its unreal.
