Tim Tebow never heard of the SI curse. he does know about Madden though.

http://www.thepostgame.com/blog/dish/201111/tim-tebow-unaware-famous-sports-jinx

drop the hate for a minute and just appreciate that he's one of us. he's a Bronco. usually Denver is ignored by the national media. with Tebow comes a spotlight that helps get guys like Miller and Dumervil and Goodman some attention that might otherwise be directed at some d-bag playing in Dallas or NE or NY or Chicago.

He's never heard about the curse because he was a one man wrecking crew in college while being featured on the cover six times.

you know what's amazing about these Tebow-hating occultists (trademark pending), that they can't just sit back and enjoy moments like these...

:)Very good post. Tebow brings the camera's, the writers, and all the attention. If you play good for the Broncos while Tebow is playing QB...you're going to get recognized. That's something that hasn't been around the Broncos for a while.

"Haters?"

I mean, 95% of the country is in love with him in some way/shape/form. Why the need for the constant attacking of the VERY few people who don't care for him? (Which for the most part probably means people who simply don't think he's a long-term NFL QB.)

Personally, I love the guy... but this is really bordering on sickness for a lot of people. It's getting into creepy territory. It's very odd to me that anyone would use the term "occultists" for the tiny minority of people who don't care for him, as opposed to using it for the charging, hyper-biased masses who do.

(Disclaimer: I hope he proves that tiny minority wrong, and I personally hope we stick with him.)

it's because Rohirrm has started calling Tebow supporters "cultists" on here. so in jest, i've started calling the nutjobs who irrationally hate Tebow (like Rohirrm) "occultists".

regarding the term "haters", well just take a look at what TGN and Spider and people like that have been posting. if they aren't "haters", then i have no idea what the right term for them would be.

Tim Tebow is a enigma. I don't care much for the hoopla surrounding him. and hate the distraction it causes. The guy has moxie. he has something about him that if he can progress as a passer .. hes a guy i think *can* take us to a superbowl.

It is appearant that you do not watch ANY of the sports related shows on television or 1 of the hundreds of sports talk raido host across the country. Add in the TGN's of the internet and you have alot more than 5% of haters.... Based on nothing more than BS babble. Bottom line is that Tim has won at every level and alot of people can not stand that.... add in his over the top religious veiws and wella, tons of haters.

So, there are 2 posters here who both claim not to actually hate him... but let's just still go with that number.

The member-list shows almost nine thousand members, if I'm reading it right.

Those 2 guys are keeping you up nights though, huh?

And they're the cultists, right? They're the extremists?

I watch as much as the next guy. Lots on weekends... sports-talk radio in the car, NFL live, NFLN, etc. I've yet to hear one person claim to "hate" him. Hodge is the closest thing I've hear, and he simply offers a harsh critique.
Conversely there are guys like Paige and the other nutty guy (name escaping me) who blather on about him like he's a family member. But, those guys are just keeping it real, right? That's not "love"... it's just analysis?

Bottom line is that Tim has won at every level .

He won in high school and college. I love how he's playing, but if you're going to say "he's won" at the NFL level based on an 8 game sample with a .500'ish record... again, perhaps it's not the imaginary "haters" that are bent, here.

By the way, I love the kid. I absolutely hope he proves his critics wrong. (All players have critics, by the way.) But, I absolutely can't stand this pansy-ass, imaginary self-persecution thing some Tebow-fans seem to embrace.

A. WHO THE F#CK CARES IF PEOPLE LIKE HIM OR NOT?
B. MOST PEOPLE LOVE THE GUY - He sells more jerseys than any other player in the NFL. Must be all of those haters snatching them up to burn, huh?
C. WHO THE F#CK CARES IF PEOPLE LIKE HIM OR NOT?

Honestly, end this ****. Man up... evaluate him honestly. He's got a lot of good to him, and he's got a lot of work to do on his pro game. Any rational NFL observers sees this. Nothing more, nothing less.

It's not his detractors that are crazy, man. Seriously, I've never seen anything this silly.

Tebow has to keep winning, and pass better, and i think he knows that. Some of those deep balls have been close, the chances are there.

I think Tebow may surprise some people at some point. Still the fanbase in Denver is sort of in flux. We had some people jump off the late 90's bandwagon, unable to weather the storm, and now we have new bandwagoners, just because of Tebow.

So it's going to take awhile for that to melt in the pot.

I don't know about band wagon. I have always thought he was a winner since college. he has proven somehow someway he can win at this leval. I think alot of the questions that have surrounded him have been answered he ant pass.not at this point. If we can continue the progress in the run game and even get him to be a marginal passer and i think were a play off team..

O and i dont wanna be considered a tebow homer or a anti tebower... I am a bronco fan

I couldn't believe it when that happened, but you could almost feel it as an inevitability.

That game was the best Broncos entertainment since the AFC divisional game in 05-06. I was up bouncing around the room at 3 o'clock in the morning.

Incredible.

I like watching our team grow into a team. That hasn't happened for over 10 years. We have a lot of young players and the players are playing with a fire in their belly.

I expect mistakes and don't dwell on them. Our team will only get better by playing TOGETHER more, and learning from their mistakes. I support Tebow, as I supported Orton, and Cutler, and Plummer, and Griese and Elway.

I didn't expect to win many games this year and am pleasantly surprised. I sometimes blame coaches, OCs especially when I think the playcalling is predictable, as it is on first down specifically.....except for the first play of the last game. However, some of the plays McCoy has drawn up are cagey (like that option-shovel pass that went for a first down last game. And the triple option. Crazy.) I have to eat some of my words against McCoy, but still rue the run on first down calls (after DTs 1st down catch, Denver didn't attempt a pass on 1st down until midway through the 3rd quarter). McCoy has to switch things up there. Too predictable. Is it ludicrous to expect a QB to LEARN (yes, that's what you should be doing in your first year of starts) how to throw the ball and read defenses if you aren't ever throwing the ball? Yes. Take a few chances, because your QB HAS to be put in those situations when other parts of your gameplan aren't working....and also to teach him the pro game. Failure is a part of it, and the talking heads don't care about wins, it has to look pretty. So what does it matter what they say? Because, like CB1 says, they don't stop with their opinions calling Tebow as a QB that will never be a long term answer at QB. Because he makes bad throws sometimes.....like every QB, even vets....they all mess up. But Tebow shouldn't mess up because......? he was drafted in the first round? They don't stop and consider that Tebow throws a better deep ball than Orton, and he can make plays scrambling that other QBs can't. If , and I would say when, the game starts to slow down for Tebow enough to make his reads and hit his targets, our offense will be difficult to defend. Maybe McCoy is taking superbabysteps to go slow enough so that it is a continuous curve up. I'm hoping.

Meanwhile, maybe because of the gameplan, Denver is not turning the ball over and is eating time on the offense, even when going 3 and out, 3 and out. There are parts of the team that are improving. The line is learning to run-block, and the WRs and TEs are also learning how to block.

And the defense is growing into a mid-level defense that can put pressure on opposing QBs and are getting some turnovers. Little by little Denver is getting good enough to start worrying teams that marked an easy game on the schedule when they first came out.

how dare you interject reason!

how dare you!?

anyway, it's a good point that sometimes a 3-and-out can be helpful in the battle of field position. if you have a good defense and a better punter than the other guy, you can control the game and clock even if you're not being terribly effective on offense for parts of a game. we saw that against the Jets. it's not my favorite thing to see, but sometimes it's part of the equation that leads to a victory.

however, ESPN could care less. they want to see offense for their highlights package, so without an offense on par with GB's, clearly a team must suck.
