View Full Version : Finally...a big game!

It's official. I'm pumped. Next Sunday will be the biggest single game this Franchise has seen in nearly six years. It's a must win game with a victory meaning the Broncos:

* Bury the Chargers.
* Likely pull even with the Raiders
* Improve our divisional record to 3-2 with only a home-date with the Chiefs remaining. A 4-2 record would likely mean we win any tie-breaker.

If you can't get excited about this game... well find another past time.

GO BRONCOS!!

Well it looks like McNeil (LT) is out for the season. I wonder who will playing at LT for them?

I think they have a really good ground game and their passing game is always dangerous. The reason that the Chuggers have lost 6 games is because of their costly turnovers.

Which means........we have to win the turnover battle. We cannot allow them to play mistake free football, or it will be very difficult for us to win.

9-7 and we walk away with the west no problem.

8-8 and we likely need the tie breaker over SD/Oak

The post season really does hinge on this game!

I am just amazed how the season began and how things are now!

This! Coming from 1-4 and feeling like we were just horrible....then getting blown out by Detroit(for sure we suck), to stringing together some wins, to now talking about a possibility of winning the division and headed to the playoffs!

Totally mind-blowing! AND, loving every minute of it!!

Anyways, this thread got me into a panic. I'm going back home for Thanksgiving, and have a mid-day flight home on Sunday, which was stupid of me to book in the first place. Luckily, my flight touches back down at DIA at 1 PM, and I should be back at my place in time for kick off.

Crisis averted people, go back to your Sunday night.

The guy's name is Dumbowsky or something and, if I recall correctly from the game a couple weeks ago when McNeill went down, his biggest weakness is speed rushers. Reminded me a lot of Flozell Adams in the later years.

Now we just have to see if we have any speed rushers to match up against him.

A flexible scheduling move would be announced at least 12 days before the game. For Week 17, the change will be announced no later than six days before the game. The schedule does not list a Sunday night game in Week 17, but an afternoon game with playoff implications will be moved to that time slot to conclude the season.

Great thread. I agree, this is a big game. If we lose, we probably don't deserve to go to the postseason. We have no excuses. 10 days to prepare with some people finally come off injury and starting to get in a groove, Phyllis Rivers playing crap ball and missing his left tackle. No, we need to win this game.

No doubt. It seems like only yesterday some were upset with the late comeback win at Miami, knowing that could seriously ruin our chances of getting Luck. But I don't think most people saw this Tebow Express machine doing what's it done.

One thing is 4 SURE - this is exciting. Much better then watching Orton bore us to death as the losses piled up.

Thats what happens when you make a QB change and the new guy leads what was one of the worst teams in the league to win 3 straight and 4 out of 5.

Those games in the past may have been interesting, but they just reinforced the same old late-season disappointment built on a pattern of collapses.

There is a new hope with these guys.

I agree with you that it's not going to be easy. Despite his down year, Rivers is still a tremendous QB. But a "really pissed off team?" What does that even mean? Were they not pissed off after 2 losses in a row? 3? 4? 5? Is 6 the magic number?

Actually, it was pretty easy to see. You just had to look at how Tebow played last season and how the rest of the team was playing this season. It was the reason I was really questioning if this front office was the right one for the job. They were pretty much just throwing games early.

While I agree with what you're saying, there is little more humiliating than losing to the Broncos right now, I think.

We beat KC with 2 passes. Tebow played like garbage for 55 minutes against Miami. Rob Ryan came out talking about how he could easily beat the option or something the day after his brother's team got beat by it in a primetime game.

If you don't want to be Sportscenter fodder for a week, you better beat the Broncos. Losing to a surging Bears team is no where near as depressing.

Not Tebow love, Broncos love my man. Again, in previous years the team seemed to be holding on late in the season. They always started strong and faded. Those "big" games where games where the team was just trying to avoid a collapse. I never felt particularly good going into those games.

This team is getting better. Measurably so. That's what I find so exciting. They are improving week-to-week and instead of hoping they just hold on, I'm genuinely optimistic that the next week is going to be even better.

That's what makes this different, at least to me. I haven't felt OPTIMISTIC about a big game like this since 2005.

I am more excited about the defense since we ignored it for so many years. For what you can say negative about Fox coming into the season, his positives always seemed to be about the defense and half way through the season, he is staying on course. Let us face it, without the defense playing this well, we don't have the Tebow effect in any of those wins. Both have been playing off each other for those 4 wins and it makes everyone happy. Even if we draft another QB in 2012, the concentration on defense is going to make us giddy.

I agree if you canít get up for this one youíre not really a Broncos Fan. Rivers has 15 TDís vs. 17 INTís and a 5 game losing streak, if the stats nuts want to attack Tebow because he hasnít been an effective passer yet so what. Heís won 3 in row and in his 5 starts he only has 2 TOís and thatís was in the long forgotten Lions game where he was mauled on almost every play.

You can hate him because he hasnít become a good passer yet but to his credit he hasnít turned the ball over. The TO stat is one that canít be overlooked. No, he hasnít completed many passes but thus far heís been smart enough or some would say lucky enough not to make throws to the other team. Itís even more amazing he hasnít turned the ball over since heís had so many rushing attempts and hasnít had a single fumble. He lost a fumble in the Lions game in the pocket but none on the run.

The OL has really improved since the Lions game and so has the D. Since the Chargers have lost 5 straight theyíre not likely to lay down in this one. If the Broncos win this one it'll be a hard fought well earned victory. The D has to play a great game, theyíll shut down theyíre running game I think theyíll just have to bring a big time pass rush and coverage along with.

It just goes without saying this one determines the fate of the Broncos making the playoffs. I like our chances and canít wait until Sunday. GO BRONCOS!!

This will be the 4th road game out of 5. So far they are 3-0 on the road with Touchdown Jesus. That is a pretty decent accomplishment for a team coming off of a 4-12 season with some pretty glaring talent deficiencies in key spots. I mean, this is the same team that couldn't beat it's way out of a wet paper sack the first month of a season.

If they get this game don't you kind of HAVE TO take notice and start talking about them as a team on the rise? Regardless of all the extenuating circumstances everyone keeps pointing to?
