If there was an option for injured that would be my vote. Unless I missed it in the slewof choices! :)

I had the discussion during the Raiders vs San Diego Thursday night game that he has a torn rotator cuff. He is throwing even more awkwardly and he is hit or miss with strength.

He used to just throw it up for the most part. When your whole receiving corp is all 6'4 and above that's all you have to do. This year he only have Gates and Jackson everyone else is around 6' so he has to throw it to the receiver and when you shot put the ball you are going to have accuracy issues just like when you catapult the ball.

Yeah... he isn't the same at all this year. But if you put pressure on any QB (hurry him, sack him, generally give him no time to gain any rhythm) he's going to make more mistakes.

O-line performance is directly tied to QB performance. Much as I wish a full recovery for McNeil, it still would be nice if his return to the field is after our game. :)

oh, when did this happen? I remember one time when we got lucky from the Hochuli misfumble call. I know, the time we had the most excellent AFC West lead and we needed a clutch Cutler to beat the Rivers lead Chargers but he blew it (and the big AFC lead). Please enlighten us on these "owned" times that Jay has given Rivers.

Most QB's no matter how well they play or how many good season, will eventually have their times when they struggle for various reasons and that time is now for Rivers. He is a stationary QB who either needs better protection from the OL or more shorter type routes so he can get rid of the ball sooner.

McDman

Yeah the book on Rivers is to reset his launch point. He's a timing passer who can't "street ball" or improvise. If you compress the pocket enough to make him throw from a position he isn't used to, it wildly disrupts his accuracy. I tend to agree that flushing him right causes him problems too. It might be that his knee never got quite right or he still has issues running and throwing off of it. There may be some discomfort there, especially torquing your body in the way you need to to make a good pass.

Well that last int was one of the ugliest throws I've seen in a while. Completely sidearmed a ball he was trying to throw away that ended up ducking right into a defender.

It's pretty basic... He is a Donovon McNabb. He is only as good as his recievers. Once they left, he became mediocre. He has had those idiots make the plays for him, now that they (and the others) are gone, he is left with only one "good" reciever instead of ProBowlers...
