Mid-fourth quarter, Chiefs gaining momentum, 3rd and 10...Tebow knocks it out of the park.

Epic.

Maybe blaming it on the safety? Even if the safety played that wrong it doesn't matter if Flowers sticks with Decker in the first place.

It looked to me like the safety had coverage over the top. It really was the safeties fault, but you can't blame him really. They were cheating up all game to try and support the run.

Chiefs fans will pretend to shrug off this game as a meaningless meetup of "two terrible teams" or argue that Tebow is a horrible QB, etc.

At the end of the day, though, you know the absolute last thing they ever wanted to see was Tim f'ing Tebow delivering a dagger 56 yd strike late in the 4th quarter, in their house, that will get replayed on Sportscenter all week. There's something extra frustrating about a player you both hate and have no respect for beating you like that.

As a Bronco fan this is 1/2 the reason I do want the Tebow experiment to work out long term - every win will be doubly grating on the opposition.

Absolutely.

The coolest thing about the past two weeks is that the rushing game has been effective to the point that, even though the other defense prepared for it and loaded up against it, that it still executed the game plan in a way that exceeded expectations.

In other words, they knew it was coming and they still couldn't stop it. Call it the El Nino offense.

As we lined up I was saying in the bar, "What pass do we have that will go 10 yards?" Figuring there is no way this time we are going to run 3rd and long. When Tebow let it fly, I stated, "That's more than 10 yards!" Perfect pass and wish/hope we can do more of that then just 8 passing attempts.

Tebow shows ability tossing the ball, but until he is allowed to throw it on a more regular occasion there will always be questions about his abilities.

Tebow's strength is his mobility and ability to extend plays. he throws best while on the move. let the guy move around, get outside the pocket and develop a confidence in his passing the ball while he gets better working from the pocket. by running PA he cuts his field in half, he doesn't have to read the entire field, he reads half the field and cuts down on options and makes his decisions quicker. getting him outside the pocket gives him flexibility, find the open man or no ones open pick up what you can and get out of bounds without taking unnecessary hits.

the way the running game has been going of late, play action passing would go off without a hitch and catch teams off guard.

we need to add to what is going on on the field now and balance the offense a little more.

KC should have been finished off by the middle of the 3rd quarter, but they got to hang around until the very end because they were having a little more success limiting the running game and had opportunity at the end because Denver didn't put them away.

Agreed completely. Those pathetic, predictable runs on third and long, and being satisfied with punting it away inside their 20, are what kept them in the game. I'm glad it worked out, but I'd prefer if Denver never took their foot off the gas while continuing to grind the ball on the ground. This gameplan would have never worked if they'd fallen behind early, or needed to win in a shootout for some reason.

4th quarter killer instinct strikes again...

4th quarter killer instinct strikes again...

true but the game shouldn't have needed a 4th quarter ending. it should have been over by halftime or minutes into the 3rd quarter. a TD at the end of the half or on the 1st drive of the 3rd quarter ends the game. the run only offense generated some yards, but was being slowed down, drives were continually stopping around mid field so that Denver could play the field position game and keep pinning KC back near their own end zone. that killer instinct needs to show up sooner in games. you need to put down the bad teams quick, don't let them hang around and have a chance in the end no matter how miniscule. i'm not saying let's let Tebow toss it like Brees, Brady or Rodgers, but we gotta open the offense up a little more and pass, at least on occasion and when necessary, if nothing else but to keep the opposition from keying on only 1 aspect of the offense.

McGahee did exactly the same thing last week, and I'm betting you don't have to go far to find more examples of it. Surely dropping to one knee isn't what they had in mind when they wrote the "going to the ground rule".

i get that. i understand and respect that they are going for wins no matter how they can get them. but with a pick coming in the top half of the draft and upwards of 5-7 QBs going in the 1st round, probably 3 in the top 5-10, it is imperitive to find out whether we need 1 of those guys. we can't do that if we don't know if Tebow can throw the ball. i just want to know so the debates can be settled. i want Tebow to be the guy so we can bring in a DT, MLB, CB in the 1st round instead of a QB. but we have to find out while we can or this debate continues another year.

Agreed. Hopefully, they're just playing it smart and letting Tebow settle in some and open the attack up gradually.

Who's complaining? Some people are merely pointing out that we'd like to see the Broncos develop the passing aspect of Tebow's game by having him do a little bit of it in game situations. This has the benefit of both making him a better player and giving the team the ability to evaluate him so they know whether or not to go in a different direction or not after the season.
