This seems a bit over the top. There is no way this was kept quite so long if that many people knew about it. (outside the organization)

That is a pretty big accusation to toss out as a rumor, but that guy has been dead on with this story before it even broke, so he has some credibility.

Its already getting worse and it isn't even close to over yet.

I hope they put a bullet in Sandusky.

This will only get worse...

Holy cow you mean there is enough boy loving Penn State donors to pimp kids out to them? Seriously, I thought I could not be surprised, but really this is so outrageous it's almost impossible to believe it took this friggin long to arrest the guy.

How does that happen at a major university?

Madden stated that two "prominent columnists" are currently investigating a rumor that Jerry Sandusky's Second Mile Foundation, a non-profit organization aimed to serve underprivileged youths, was "pimping out young boys to rich (Penn State) donors."

C'mon... that's as vague a statement as you can make. They are investigating the possibility. Nothing to see here (at least yet).

Here's a link the original story by Mark Madden back in April of this year. Keep in mind this article was written 7 months ago!

The guy was pretty much spot on with every allegation well in advance of the grand jury report.

And Madden poses an interesting question. Allegations of misconduct first surfaced "officially" in 1998, and then in 1999 Sandusky retired from football.

Yet he was only 55 years old at the time, at an age considered to be "in the prime" for a college head coach. He had been Paterno's hand-picked successor at one point and was nationally recognized as a top assistant coach.

Then, suddenly, in 1999 he retires. And no one else goes after him. No school anywhere tried to convince him to un-retire.

The Franklin child prostitution ring allegations were a series of high-profile accusations and legal actions between 1988 and 1991 surrounding an alleged child sex ring serving prominent citizens of Omaha, Nebraska, as well as high-level U.S. politicians.[1] The allegations centered around the actions of Lawrence E. King, director of the recently-collapsed Franklin Community Federal Credit Union in Omaha and a prominent local political figure.

Yeah, splashing it across the front page of one of the nation's most prominent newspapers is "largely ignoring" the story.

EDIT: I guess that's the mooney paper, not the Post. My bad.

As for this new development, Drudge has a history of publishing questionable **** like this and never having to answer for it. I'll wait to see if something develops from this.

From the evidence, the Franklin case did happen.

Just like the case in Jersey:

http://highstrangeness.tv/articles/jerseydevils.php

The abuse investigation started in 2006 and focused mostly on a 150 year old facility called Haut de la Garenne (Forest Heights). Locals call the facility "Colditz". From 1867 to 1986 it was a detention facility for homeless, delinquent and at-risk children except for a period when it was occupied by the Germans during WW II.

The Investigation

The investigation focused on hidden underground chambers and pits which had been filled in with dirt and in some cases booby-trapped. Other parts of the grounds also yielded bone fragments.

Excavation of the chambers supported charges of horrific torture and murder of children going back to some time before the 40's. Investigators found numerous children's bone fragments, nearly 40 teeth, and blood remnants. One chamber contained a concrete bathtub splattered with blood. An incenarator contained bone fragments and teeth, indicated that children's bodies were dismembered and burned in the underground chambers.

Another chamber was filled with half a meter of lime. Investigators claim that they don't know why the lime was there but lime is typically used to speed up the decay of bodies. Given the fact that body parts were found in other chambers it is possible that body parts were in the lime as well or the chamber had been intended for body disposal but not used.

More than 150 people have told police they suffered abuse at the children's home or other institutions on the island since the discovery.

"We must all fear that more remains will be found," said Stuart Syvret, a local politician.

The authorities plan to resume digging soon at the ex-children's home, where recent allegations have colored the international view of Jersey, which lies close to the French coast but is a dependency of the British crown.

"You'd go to bed at night, sleeping, and all of a sudden your arms would be held down and the next thing you know you're getting raped," recalled Peter Hannaford, who spent the first 12 years of his life at the former children's home.

"You were subject to constant abuse ... It was every night, and you were scared to go to bed."

He wants the old children's home destroyed.

"That building has long been known on this island as a place where young boys were punished severely, where they suffered," he told CNN.

"Many of those boys have grown up to be old men here telling horrible stories of mistreatment. But even they are shocked by what is now being uncovered at Haut de la Garenne."

Another former resident, Ken Lequesne, said he was beaten in the children's home.

"Horrendous," he said. "I can't believe what's gone on in there."

Syvret, the politician, alleged a "long-established culture of covering up alleged abuses." He said "abuse and maltreatment and appalling cruelty to children" has

Drudge only links to headlines. Nuttin' more.

The MSM didn't run with the Barney Frank story until they were forced to do so. Kinda like what happened with John Edwards' "Love Child". IIRC, it was in fact The National Enquirer that broke that story.

Imagine that!

Another bizarro twist is that the DA originally investigating these claims mysteriously disappeared in 2005, and his body has never been found.

He apparently told his girlfriend that he was going for a drive. The next day, police found his car in a parking lot. His laptop computer was recovered from a nearby river, but the hard drive had been removed from the computer.

Look at the time line - it wasn't "W" - it was H.W. Bush's aides.

Well - then you get weird stories like this:

"Bloggers revealed that Jeff Gannon... had previously worked as a $200-an-hour gay prostitute who advertised himself on a series of websites with names such as hotmilitarystud.com."[17]

This story has resurfaced:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Gricar

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/09/sports/ncaafootball/questions-on-sandusky-wrapped-in-2005-gricar-mystery.html

Yet as the Sandusky investigation moves forward, questions will be asked anew about why Gricar did not pursue charges against him 13 years ago. A small but strident minority believes Gricar did not want to tackle a case that involved a hometown icon. Others who knew and worked with Gricar say he was a meticulous, independent and tough-minded prosecutor who was unbowed by Penn State, its football program and political pressure in general.

“No one got a bye with Ray,” said Anthony De Boef, who worked as an assistant district attorney under Gricar for five years. “He didn’t care who you were; he had a job to do.”

De Boef said Gricar did not share any information with him about the case in 1998, which involved Sandusky allegedly showering with an 11-year-old boy. Gricar, he said, reviewed the police reports in private including, presumably, notes or recordings of two conversations that the police heard between Sandusky and the boy’s mother. But Gricar had a reputation for thoroughness, and if he thought he had enough to charge Sandusky, he would have, De Boef and other lawyers said.

Still, the circumstances surrounding Gricar’s disappearance prompt many questions.

On April 15, 2005, Gricar, then 59, took the day off. At about 11:30 a.m., he called his girlfriend, Patricia Fornicola, to say he was taking a drive on Route 192. About 12 hours later, she reported him missing.

The next day, Gricar’s Mini Cooper was found in a parking lot in Lewisburg, about 50 miles from his home in Bellefonte. Gricar’s cellphone was in the car, but not his laptop, wallet or keys, which were never recovered. Months later, the laptop was found in the Susquehanna River without its hard drive, which was discovered later. It was too damaged to yield any information. On the fourth anniversary of his disappearance, investigators revealed that a search of his home computer yielded a history of Internet searches for phrases like “how to wreck a hard drive,” according to a report at the time in The Centre Daily Times.

When Gricar disappeared helicopters, dive teams and patrol cars were deployed, and the F.B.I. was brought in. Reports of Gricar turning up in Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Maryland and other states proved to be dead ends.

So what happened? Friends and colleagues say Gricar was not the type to walk away. His bank accounts were not touched after he disappeared, he had no other sources of income and he had no major debts, said Robert Buehner Jr., a friend and the district attorney in Montour County. Though divorced twice, he seemed happy with his girlfriend and close with his daughter. Gricar had already announced that he was retiring at the end of his term.

“He was absolutely looking forward to his future,” Buehner said.
