View Full Version : Where's our biggest need right now?

I'm curious as to what people are currently thinking our biggest need will be going into the draft. Of course that's assuming we don't fill any key needs via free agency, which one assumes will actually take place before the draft in 2012....

I've put forward what i think our biggest need areas are, I've missed out a few areas that I don't think are candidates for high picks...feel free to disagree however.....

You mean other than a DT right?

I disagree with everything you said, because you listed nothing and I think we have more needs than nothing. Here is mine in Order of importance imo.

1- CB
2-MLB
3-DT
4-RB
5-DE

Weeeeelll, I'm gonna go right out on a limb and say that although it may be a need, it is no longer our biggest need.

There! I said it. Would have got me tarred and feathered in the offseason though, so curious to know the impact of that statement now....

I would say CB. Champ is getting older and we have nothing behind him.

Good poll.

1 - CB, we have no depth and at best only 1 player who can start in 2 years.
2 - DT, Bunkley is looking like a good 2 down guy, Thomas and Vickerson are servicable rotation players but we need a strong 3-tech who can play 3 downs.
3 - RB, We need to draft Lamar Miller, RBs from the U just own face when they are in Denver (Portis and Mcgahee)
4 - MLB, I am not sold on Mays, I want Manti Teo, we need someone with speed to spare and he has that.
5 - OL, we have no depth at all, we need to drop some late round picks into T/G.

Hope Tebow works out but that would be addressed top priority if not. Bunkley has been nice pick up but secondary might need to be addressed as well as CB. Are we talking top pick in the draft or majority of position for draft and free agency?

If tebow continues to make progress, and the Broncos continue to patch up the DL in free agency:

CB
LB
DT
OL

Ummmmm, how about "owner."

If not for Bowlen's poor, not to mention cheap, decisions these past few years in particular, I honestly don't think we'd be anywhere near the mess we're now in.

the Broncos need two more Champs...one to evetnually replace him and the other to make the other teams pay for not throwing to champs side of the field.

Bunkley has been better than expected so I am going CB as our #1 need.

DT is still close behind at #2 and RB comes in at #3 for me.

1a. QB (123 yards a game is not going to cut it in the playoffs, even with 100 yards rushing a game).
1b. DT
3. RT
4. MLB
5. CB
6. RB
7. K

2. CB
3. MLB
4. CB
5. DT

We definitely need alot of quality depth at OL as well... After out starting 5 we got nothing.

CB > MLB > G > DE

From there it's a guessing game on if C/QB/OT/S pan out

Dt, mlb, cb, rt.

I'll just say DL, overall. But, it's close. I wouldn't mind seeing our #1 used on an OT, either.

Still, we need depth and potential starters at DE and DT.

CB is a close second.

You've got to see more of guys like Tebow and eventually Nate Irving... but QB and MLB are obviously in question, as well.

DT, CB, MLB and maybe QB (which could jump to the front of the line, depending). Oline is young and we still have 8 games to watch them. Maybe RT too. Move OF inside. I also (obviously) still have faith that Sydquan will come back and make some noise next year. ;D

I will respond and be more informed after last game of the season. Especially evaluating Qb and OL/ RT. I do think a DB will be needed.

Gotta go with CB. We're dangerously old and dangerously thin.

Dline is still the priority on defense, shore that up and the LBers and secondary immediately benefit. As for offense, I hate to say QB but until that get's shored up the ripple effect on the the offense and entire team is huge. If Tebow can continue to improve passing the ball and the team continues to win then I'm not gonna say we need to draft a QB in the first round.

1 DT or S (Rubin Carter Clone or Steve Atwater clone)
2: S or DT (see above)
3: MLB (Gradishar clone)
4: LG (Stink clone)
5: KR (Upchurch clone) unless this is where Royal can finally contribute

the CENTER of the D needs fixed more than the edges.

D-line for sure then MLB

We haven't seen enough of Tebow yet but he definitely needs to improve his passing, we already know he can run
