I checked and didn't see it posted. I just happened to find out :o
R.I.P

Andy Rooney, whose prickly wit was long a mainstay of CBS News and whose homespun commentary on “60 Minutes,” delivered every week from 1978 until 2011, made him a household name, died on Friday in New York City.
He was 92 and lived in Manhattan, though he kept a family vacation home in Rensselaerville, N.Y., and the first home he ever bought, in Rowayton, Conn.

CBS News said in a statement that Mr. Rooney died after complications following minor surgery.

In late September, CBS announced that Mr. Rooney would be making his last regular weekly appearance on “60 Minutes” on Oct. 2. After that, said Jeff Fager, the chairman of CBS News and the program’s executive producer, he would “always have the ability to speak his mind on ‘60 Minutes’ when the urge hits him.”

That's too bad. He didn't have much time to enjoy retirement. RIP Andy Rooney...

You ever notice how when you die, you can never find your car keys?

You ever wonder why, when you die, you get so cold? It's not like we live on the North Pole. I don't keep the air conditioner on very high in my apartment. I wish someone could give me a good reason for why that happens. And speaking of that, how come tape dispensers have to be so big?

He was hilarious.
I could miss most of 60 Minutes, but I've always made sure I caught Andy at the end...
I loved his style. He was awesome!

Yeah, he just retired last month. He must've been sensing his end was near...

His sense of humor has never really done it for me, but I can't help but tip my hat to a guy that can have that kind of a career writing about absolutely nothing of interest or importance at all.

What exactly DOES happen to kleenex after you throw it away?

I'm bookmarking this. Probably going to go back to it at least 10 times a day for the next week.

Wooooooo... this wins everything.

My father feels the same way... He was one of Andy Rooney's biggest fans!

Someone here did something similar when a an older actress died (whom I can't rememer). They put up a picture of Betty White and had "For Frodo" underneath. I pissed myself.

We have widely disparate views of what constitutes hillarious.

RIP, Rooney.

Rest In Peace, Mr. Andy Rooney. You seemed a nice sort, like a kindly grandfather. 92 years old, that is quite a good run sir.

R.I.P. Andy Rooney (http://warmingglow.uproxx.com/2011/11/r-i-p-andy-rooney)

Crotchety rambler Andy Rooney has passed away (http://widget.uproxx.com/b/5/http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-18560_162-57319150/andy-rooney-dead-at-92/), just one month after his final “60 Minutes” appearance (http://warmingglow.uproxx.com/2011/10/andy-rooney-is-a-real-a-hole) and slightly more than a week after suffering complications from minor surgery (http://warmingglow.uproxx.com/2011/10/andy-rooney-stable-after-almost-dying). In honor of his passing, I’ll be just as respectful about his death as he was about Kurt Cobain’s (http://widget.uproxx.com/b/5/http://books.google.com/books?id=gTnKjr_BrB0C&lpg=PA266&ots=S2Vo_Yq2dZ&dq=%22A%20lot%20of%20people%20would%20like%20to%20 have%20the%20years%20left%20that%20he%20threw%20aw ay%22&pg=PA266#v=onepage&q=%22A%20lot%20of%20people%20would%20like%20to%20h ave%20the%20years%20left%20that%20he%20threw%20awa y%22&f=false).
Rooney was an unremarkable, cranky bore whose bitching about simple annoyances struck a nerve with other aging white people who were frightened by or opposed to change. His view of America was essentially a collection of Rockwell paintings, and he complained about any facet of life that strayed from that impossible vision. When technological developments improved commerce or people’s lives, Rooney only saw the inconvenience of learning something new. In every TV appearance of his that I saw, he came off to me as intellectually incurious, and he happily took a paycheck from CBS for 60 years while brushing away the fans who sent him letters or tried to approach him in public. I don’t understand why people who didn’t know him should stop and mourn a man who never cared for people he didn’t know.
Rest in peace, Andy Rooney. The world has moved on.

This is why I want to retire SOON. I'm sure Andy enjoyed his job enough to want to stay doing it like he did. Not me, I want to enjoy some "doing whatever the hell I want, whenever I want".
