Wondering what all the demonstrations are about? Well, it's all here in this interview more than three decades ago. We need a Milton Friedman to put these folks in their place.

I agree with Milton. Free enterprise is a great idea. We should try it.

Milton Friedman's academic theories are no longer in use today.

As for his political theories, you simply have to look at the disaster of USA's industry over the last 30 years.

Or Chile in the early 80's.

Which makes it all the more incredible that right-wing rubes still defend those theories.

Leave it to you to completely miss the point and go full stupid without even thinking twice ( you're part of the problem) you're so busy opposing things you never even bother to listen or even try to understand ( you live in a pathetic self absorbed closet) with no hope of coming out.

Look who's answering to "right-wing rubes." :welcome:

At any rate, no surprise that you avoid a direct rebuttal of the comment you quoted and opt instead for the usual ad hominem.

I guess you have no other choice when you're faced with the prospect of defending a charlatan like Friedman.

So are you rooting for socialism or communism?

I understand the ideals: rational self interest, free and prosperous markets, greed is good, etc.

The problem is that mountains of evidence, especially in this last decade, are hard to ignore.

"I made a mistake in presuming that the self-interests of organisations, specifically banks and others, were such that they were best capable of protecting their own shareholders and their equity in the firms," - Alan Greenspan, admitting a mistake in his free market ideology, 2008.

Neither.

You and every other right-wing straw man artist on this board need to get together and take an introductory political science course in the hope that you might learn the difference between liberalism and socialism.
