"Without the oxygen to fuel their fire they're very much at risk of losing relevance," said Daniel Tisch, chairman of the Global Alliance of Public Relations & Communication Management, a confederation of national PR societies.

To some extent, even the protesters agree they are likely to get less attention as time goes by.

"People know what the general storyline is," said Senia Barragan, a protester from New Jersey acting as a spokeswoman for the occupation when not working on a doctorate at Columbia University. "I think they're moving on to other stories."

Sources said NYCC has hired about 100 former ACORN-affiliated staff members from other cities – paying some of them $100 a day - to attend and support Occupy Wall Street. Dozens of New York homeless people recruited from shelters are also being paid to support the protests, at the rate of $10 an hour, the sources said.

Chanting, "the night isn't over til we take back the park," protesters in Oakland, CA stormed City Hall and swarmed the downtown area in an attempt to re-claim their protest site after being evicted by police in the early morning hours today. Police in riot gear were surrounded by the crowds and pelted with paint as many chanted "this is why we call you pigs."

Seems like Oakland has finally had enough of the Occupy Movement. Hours after warning protesters to leave public property, police intercepted them as the demonstrators tried to return. The mob attacked, and police went into full riot mode:

The police in Oakland dispersed hundreds of protesters using tear gas and flash bombs on Tuesday night as crowds tried to re-enter a plaza outside of City Hall that the authorities had cleared of an encampment earlier in the day. …
By Wednesday morning in downtown Oakland, a dim cloud of gas still hung in the air over Frank Ogawa Plaza, according to images broadcast on CNN. A small number of police in riot gear stood by barricades around the plaza and a handful of protesters held signs nearby.
“It sounded like bombs,” said Joaquin Jutt, 24, a digital animator who was among the protesters on Tuesday night. “There was a stinging and burning in my throat, eyes and nostrils. My eyes burned like there was hot sauce in them.”

They're getting desperate out there. The media is hoping for another Kent State.

They should just use water cannons to break up the crowds. Make them wet and cold every night and they will disperse when winter picks up, problem solved.
