View Full Version : Carson Palmer

Vine

He was 8-21 today with 116 yards passing. And his team scored was SHUTOUT.

Carson Palmer got the L.

Tim Tebow got the W.

Yet, somehow I have a feeling that Tebow is going to face 100x as much scrutiny than Palmer.

And it is already apparent with Hodge's comment.

Like I said in the other thread, I can't believe there were some Bronco fans that were anything other than ecstatic for the Faid giving up two high round picks to acquire Carson Palmer. They are an 8-8 ish team this year with McFadden and now they are an 8-8 ish team with their best player hurt, no high round draft picks and a shot QB.

Winning.

Palmer threw a pick 6 too. I didn't see much of the KFC game but Oakland had like 4 or 5 INTs which led to Boller getting pulled.

Palmer looked bad from what I saw, he looked like an old dude who had not played organized football in 10 months

Carson Palmer threw 3INTs in the 2nd half vs the Chiefs. The last Raider QB to throw 3INTs in a half was Kyle Boller in the 1st half

Yeah well Palmer didn't have the luxury of OTA's or training camp / preseason reps with the starters. Plus, they just pretty much threw him in to start the second half even though his team was down by double digits. What did they expect, some kind of water-to-wine miracle?

So, the reason he didn't start was because he was obviously not ready to play.

So they throw him to the wolves in the second half, when the game was already out of hand. They should have just sucked up that loss with Boller.

Brainiacs, those Raiders.

I actually thought he looked okay for having about 4 days of practice. It got me a little worried because even though i don't think he's great, and the raiders paid way too much for him, he looks like a significant upgrade from Campbell. Just watching the way they let him throw the ball around it seemed like their passing game is going to be more threatening.

I understand the Palmer pile on but I think it is misguided. He had some bad throws but he had some decent throws as well. They dropped a lot of his throws out there...it was hitting their guys right in the damn hands.

I think Palmer ends up playing some decent football in Oakland...good enough to be worth what they paid for him? Hell no. But he will get around to being a decent QB for those a-holes.

The first pick was a bad read on his part , thinking he had a bigger arm then he does and being late. The last pick was typical Palmer , missing high. 2nd one was on the wr and no fault of his. (hope I have the order right on the last 2)

Some could be rust yes , but it could also be he's Carson Palmer.

I don't think it's a fair sample yet by no means . All the local sports shows in cincy talked about him looking like he did his last 3 years here tho. And maybe try to keep people away from his legs.... cause you almost got him killed on his very first play as a raider.

He's still better then your other options and I hope he does well for you when it has no ramifications for my team. He's a classy guy.

Absolutely! That first pick was a bad read and he thought he could beat the corner with his arm. In normal circumstances he might have gotten away with it but he really was at a huge disadvantage with not knowing how his WR would break on the ball etc. He had 3 int's 2 were on him. 1 was tipped by the WR.

That first play was a cheap shot by the chiefs.

True, which is why I thought it was a mistake to put him in there yesterday. His confidence is going to be shaky having sat out for awhile, and now it's going to be downright shattered because they forced the issue.

I've said it a few times, but this stands to be one of the worst trades in NFL history by the time it's over, which of course is great news.

Here are a few scenarios...

-Palmer is a B+ QB and plays for a few years: Stupid trade. That could have been acquired for much less.

-Palmer is a C QB, plays a few years but doesn't do much. Stupid trade.

-Palmer flops, never gets back to his old form... which he only had briefly in his spotty career. Stupid trade.

-Anything less: Stupid trade.

The only outcome that will justify multiple #1 picks (or a 1 and a 2) is A to A+ QB play for multiple years. Palmer has maybe had one or two A seasons in his life, and has nad none since the injury and hasn't looked very good, since. He's also getting up in years.

Again, it's early... but this has a chance to make the "Worst Trades" top 10 list for a very long time if it plays out as it's likely to.

Pathetic.

Here's a challenge for you Raiders nerds: find one major statistical category where Carson Palmer was better than Tim Tebow.

That should be pretty easy if he was better, right?

Get to work.

Except for the fact that nobody has talked about that...not the commentators...not any media reactions....

When that **** comes up it gets brought up every where.

Tamba Hali has zero history of doing anything like that.

You guys absolutely were victims on Sunday. But not victims of being hurt on purpose.

Kansas City linebacker Tambi Hali also was fined $15,000 for striking Raiders quarterback Carson Palmer(notes) in the knee area.

At no point did they say it was premeditated. Take your p***Y victim mentality somewhere else.

I find that funny, because I view that as the Raider being the boss... Because I think you are referring to a Cheif? So... since it took two of them to bring down our TE, which one is the boss?

I believe Boss is the Boss and your LB's are pussies...

How can we compare Carson to Turdbow? When Palmer is with the Raider for two years I will be more than happy to compare someone who was with the same team for a certain amount of time.

Are you suggesting that Timmy Turdbow has been a Bronco for this long and went into Denver only knowing 15 plays? That would make Turdbow a complete retard now wouldn't it...

Send Turdbow to Tennessee and play him for a game, and I will GUARANTEE YOU that his stats would be HORRIFIC!!!

Yea I know how long they have been in the NFL. How many years you've been in means nothing. Are you suggesting that your 2nd year QB has better numbers than Cam Newton? How about Big Ben's first year as a pro?

I am suggesting, regardless of the QB, if they were given 15 plays and was eating Dorito's four days prior and sat out for a good 10 months and never practiced with the team he's playing for, then I will consider it.

If you put Turdbow in that situation, it would have been FAR WORST!!!

I wonder how many times 2 QB's threw 3 INT's each in one game.

Didn't both have at least 1 INT returned for a TD or was that just Palmer?

The whole attempt to compare CP to the kid that blows is a joke. You jackass fans know it just as well as anyone else. Talk to us when teblows learns how to throw the ball

I wasn't comparing CP to Tim. I do find it funny that both Boller and CP had 3 INTs in one game

I really didn't mean to quote you (Seriously) Not to make excuses they both had 3 int's... however, CP had 2 that belonged to others... One tipped ball and one where Louis Murphy quit on the route. The pick 6 was all Carson!

39. Carson Palmer
How can anyone say Palmer was "rusty" last week? Did you see those ducks he was throwing? My dad's urine has more zip. Can you really trust someone who quit on the Bengals last year, to the point that his old coach called him out last week? And shouldn't it matter that he hasn't been good in three or four years? I continue to think that was the worst football trade since the Herschel Walker deal (and more indefensible). Carson Palmer is rusty, all right — he's Rusty Hilger.

One guy was running full speed and the other was at a complete stop.

Sounds like someone who never played football.

There were some pussies on the field...but it wasn't the guys in red. What kind of gutless team gets stuffed FOUR times on the goal line? lol.

That number 3 raider jersey gives me happy memories of watch jeff george in that uni haha

Jeff George I love it. The greatest Raiders/Broncos game I ever saw at the old Mile High Stadium in 97 was when George was starter. The Broncos won the game 31 to 3 and if not for a late FG in the first half the Broncos would have had a perfect. Davis ran all over them and rushed for 3 TD’s in that one and in my opinion its ranks as the most dominating Broncos performance over the Raiders in franchise history. It was cool to be in the stadium to see it firsthand. George was sacked 4 times in the game and played like a first rate Bum it was football heaven.

No, but I'll go on a limb and say he'll shake off his rust and have a career day against us this weekend.

This thread does remind me of one thing.

This transaction is a perfect example of the "injury to a starting QB during the season that raises the trade value of an available QB on some other team" that you constantly berated others for (in the debate about Orton's potential trade value and how it would be affected by a starting QB going down either in preseason or early in the year), claiming that it has never and never would happen in the NFL.

we cant be in the cellar when yall are there. It was not smart to throw Palmer in like that but it got his feet wet and now he has had 2 weeks to get back into everything. The receivers stayed in Oak to work on timing with Palmer. We will see what happens this week when we take yall on. This week aint going to be any easier on Heblows than it was last week.

ps If you think Heblows is better than Palmer then you are on some good stuff.
