Willis McGahee has broken hand
Posted by Mike Florio on October 23, 2011, 4:55 PM EDT

APItís not all good news for the Broncos on Sunday, after a stirring come-from-behind win in their home away from home of Sun Life Stadium.

Running back Willis McGahee, who played at the University of Miami, suffered a broken hand during the 18-15 overtime win. Coach John Fox confirmed the diagnosis after the game.

McGahee had 76 yards on 18 carries against the Dolphins, giving him 460 for the season. Itís unknown whether and to what extent heíll miss any time.

Maybe well get lucky and moreno will stay healthy for a few weeks while McG heals...

This is probably why the Broncos won the game.. Fox couldn't try to ride on the runners back and had to let Tebow play..

This is a shame, McGahee was able to pick up chunks of yardage and was our only offense for most of the game.

A good run game can only help take the heat off the pass rush plus Willis made KM better because the D was thinking pass when KM came in for relief and he got a big gainer off the edge.

Timmy is going to need to be more consistent with McGahee out.

Well if it was on a stiff arm meaning it wasn't his dominate ball carrying arm then he can wear a cast and still play right?

Based on the way the carries shaped out after Mcgahee he left, I think you mean Ball Era Part Un

Interesting call... Did this happen on that play when he got called on a facemask? Did he get it caught?

Big loss. We need his style of running against the Raiders.

That's what I thought....and I wonder, since it's a rare offensive call, if maybe he got his hand stuck in the facemask? That's how it was broken?

The U is known for movin' snow. Willis dropped it on the 30 and was free to go.

Running backs have played with broken hands before. I'd be curious to see if he is out and, if so, for how long.

That sucks. He is running so good right now. Great vision, patients and burst. Seems to be really making all the right decisions out there.

Sucks that he got called for a facemask on the play he broke his hand, with the Broncos backed up on the goal line. It was a nice run.

They dont throw it to McGahee anyway, so I hope he can still go. Moreno had those two good runs and I thought...ok...Then asked to be taken out.

I think that the greatest mismatch and use of Moreno is as a psss catcher out of the backfield anyway. Keep Tebow playing the spread, let Moreno swing and wheel for easy check downs. This is one use of Moreno that no defense can generally contain.

This is honestly the first point that I really, really miss Shanahan. I honestly think he could come up with a devastating play script for Tebow to run with our current personnel.

He has been doing a great job of moving the pile after initial contact.

This is not good. He was the entire offense. Don't expect the Lions to put on the kind of defensive debacle we witnessed yesterday.

don't be surprised if you see a repeat...other than the Lions front 4, they are a very average defense

Make that their entire DL. They have serious depth.
