...MUST be questioned.

So what if he made it.

But the fact is....settling for a 50+ yard FG does NOT put your team in position to give them the best chance to win.

Yeah, they were setting that up like it was a 32 yarder. Didn't quite get it. The staff doesnt trust Tim at all. I'm not sure what we have to lose, just let him play.

The play calling, like all day, was horrible on that drive. Tebow finally was playing great, and they run the ball three times to set up a 50+ yard field goal?!?! I couldn't believe it.

The 1043 twitter made a similar comment. Something along the lines of "would it kill us to try for at least 1 first down, given Prater's 2 early misses?"

I tend to agree, I mean I guess there are turnover concerns with Tebow playing QB, but still.

It was a bold plan.

Like I said in the McCoy thread, I wasn't going to judge the playcalling. Tebow is a work in progress, etc.

But late in the 4th quarter, we found a scheme that worked. We found an offensive set that worked. So what do we do? We revert back to run, run, run, punt in overtime. The OT play calling was absurd.

I thought it was a perfect time for that play action bootleg, where Tebow runs left. Because the defense was thinking running back all the way.

Tebow would have gotten 8 or 10 yards on that play, I think.

Right, Because was showing all day he was forcing throws into coverage. Only pass close to a TO all day was the 1st pass he had, which was a bad route by DT.

They were really just biding their time until the final 2 minutes of overtime so Tim could play...making the kick was just gravy. Tebow likes to keep it interesting

Play calling was pretty terrible all day minus the creativity on that TD pass and the misdirection run with Moreno. I will puke if I watch anymore fake handoff, fake run by QB, then make a read and pass plays.

Even with the win it still pisses me off. We went right back to what failed the entire game in OT.

True, I don't care who the kicker is, 50 yard field goals are no automatics, especially when your kicker had already missed a couple earlier in the game. Designing a game plan like that reminded me Reeves when he had a young Elway and Elway with poor stats and play most of the game expected to win it in the end.

We got the ball within our kickers FG range, why try something that causes a turnover or knocks you out of FG range. It was a safe call in a close game from a comeback where we needed everything to go our way. Just think with in 3 minutes we scored 2 TDs and converted a 2 point conversion and got an Onside kick and held the Dolphins after losing the coin flip.

Nothing to complain about in the last 3 minutes and OT.

Now if you want to complain about something during the 1st 57 minutes complain away.

You're a big "three runs and a cloud of dust" proponent, aren't you?

john fox was terrible...

at least on the OT drive, fake the handoff to the rb and let Tebow run with it...something at least moderately creative...goodness...

who in the world plays for a 52 yd fg?...

Well, Prater has always been better from 50+ than in the 35-50 range....

Normally it's a ****ty call, but with Prater I'd rather him kick it long.

Yes he of the 3 turnovers in 4 1/2 games. That's soooo risky...

Fox and McCoy deserve an F for the game

playcalling was crap, we are not going to win many games running it up the gut on every first down and running a qb draw on every third down

Or only passing on 3rd down. That's not a nice way to treat a QB, and it certainly doesn't set them up for success.

It's not just Tebow.. they did this to Orton too.. again.. Fox is trying NOT to lose.. not trying to win. He got lucky this game but you can't win in the NFL like that unless you have the Steelers D.. and I don't think he's that good defensively either..

This was terrible coaching all game. Orton would ahve been KILLED if they tried to play this way with him at QB.. even Tebow got the crap beat out of him.

I prefer that over watching Timmy get corkscrewed into the ground out of FG range.

You get a turnover in FG range you want to protect the ball and get the most yardage you can without getting a turnover or knocked out of range.

Positive yards and kick the FG for the win. It is safe and won us the game, not sure why all the bitching.

Yes, it was within his range, but that doesn't mean settle for a 50+ yard field goal. That's a tough one. Get one first down and set him up for a 35-45 yard field goal.

We didn't find any scheme in the 4th quarter. They were playing off and Tebow was able to calm down.

It is not like we have Robbie Gold as a kicker, it is in Praters range, no kick is a give me, and they tried to pick up yardage safely, they didn't take 2 knees then kick it on 3rd down.

I still feel that Willis would have picked up more yardage if he wasn't hurt.

They FG was made with room to spare.

Question the passing game plan in the 1st half.

In the 1st half they were running a ****ty version of the spread I have 2 small kids and no DVR on the Directv but I think the long passes to Willis and Fells were out of the formations we were using with Orton.
