A movement is starting to turn discontent into action. The first step is to remove the greedy fingers of corporations from the government. The only way to accomplish this is through state by state action, calling a Constitutional Convention and bypassing our hopelessly corrupt federal government. Obviously, neither of the two parties will ever address this.
Here is the proposed amendment:
28th Amendment
Corporations are not people. They have none of the constitutional rights of human beings. Corporations are not allowed to give money to any politician, directly or indirectly. No politician can raise over $100 from any person or entity. All elections must be publicly financed.

This sounds like a terrible idea. You'd have to be ill in the head to think that business in this country doesn't have a place at the table of Government policy.

Question: Would the tea party support an amendment to the Constitution that states simply that corporations are not persons and are therefore not entitled to the Rights outlined in the Bill of Rights?
I would not support such an amendment. As a business owner it is my right to make sure my business can operate in the market place, which can include doing business with the Government or petitioning the government.

+1...and for pity's sake, put a cap on the time allowed for an election. These politicians seem to be running for election every day of every year.

A place is one thing, legally bribing elected representatives to do their bidding is another.
Democracy is a wonderful thing, it would be nice to see it at work.

Any donation would technically be a "bribe" whether it be businesses, private individuals, or other countries. I do like the idea of publically funded elections, but it needs to be reprepsented as a percentage of something so we don't have politicians looting money to fund their bids.

Just stop it all. The process in place now, has more in common with a third world nation. Those same third world nations are now allowed to pour money into the pockets of our elected reps.
Wasn't there some noise to introduce campaign finance reform after the supreme court ruling, allowing the bribery to be extended to nations?

I added countries because it happens, but it is illegal today if I am not mistaken.

I was thinking of foreign corporations.....which in many cases, could mean countries.
Illegal, yes, but possible, if not probable.
