Jay has a good relationship with Fox, spoke with him directly.

All macgrudering aside, this is great news! Thanks for the find montrose...hope reigns supreme!

Interesting. Maybe it was nothing more than his deep-seeded love for veterans that led him to start Orton.

I think it has a lot to do with the Vets were behind KO and Fox does listen to the vets.

Tebow's ability to win ugly and get first downs should be a trait that Fox finds beneficial in his boring style of play. Get first downs, milk the clock, keep the opponents offense off the field.

Notice how you attack me rather than the guy who was mocking me.. typical witch hunt.

If Fox loves Tebow why does it sound lie he is hamstringing him offensively? That is why it falls under the category of disinfo. We have heard Fox comment about Tebow and sound like he was waiting for him to fail. I hope that isn't the case but others have seen it too.

His comments now sound like damage control.

Tebow made a boring loss exciting and rallied a dead team to near victory, all Fox could say was that he provided a spark and didn't know who his starter would be next week. Don't really see a whole lotta love there. Matter of fact he commented Tebow decision had nothing to do with the fans love for him either...I just don't like Fox he seems fairly clueless and his offense is uninspired without Tebow.

This doesn't surprise me at all. I wasn't totally buying the media line that Elway & Fox weren't enamored with the guy. I'm no NFL personnel expert, but I know one thing: If you're a QB and you win games, the coach & team will be in your corner and your best friend. If you don't, you're eventually gone.

If this is true, I'm glad to hear it. I think Foxball and Tebow-ball could sire a baby that wins.

This is interesting because elway said fox made the switch at the half, and I heard through the grapevine that elway was making the call at qb, but I didnt believe that anyway.

Sometime this week, like many veteran HCs, Fox has a good rapport with the tenured national guys like Mike Silver, Peter King, Jay Glazer, etc. Considering Glazer's primarily around NFC games, thats probably why he got in good with Fox.

Glazer mentioned last week Fox loves Tebow just didnt like his inconsistency at practice. Looks like they chatted again this week.

This should shut up the people who want to lose to draft Luck, but it wont.

That's like saying "I love my wife, but I wanted to give that college chick a fair shake at winning the job."

Whatever....what I don't want to see is musical QBs.

Tweak the offense to meet Tebow's skillset and then let him play the next 11 games and let's what we've got in terms of future potential.

What is hilarious is people calling the management stupid and making bad moves, but then want them to lose on purpose with hopes of landing Luck in the draft, which there is no sure thing of getting him or Luck being a great QB for that matter. And yet that wouldn't be stupid? Ok.

Who said lloyd asked for trade as soon as it came out? Wanna know why Ty Waren had a setback... Lol

Dude got hurt on the sideline, jacked up his shoulder. I can get good info from time to time. But this forum aint the best place for most of it. I got no reason to make up stuff. Diehard.

This is the same Fox who yanked Orton halfway through a game. Whatever happened to actions speak louder than words?

Orton had a very good year, last year (until he was injured).

I don't doubt Fox likes Tebow. But the real question be, will he be willing to adjust the offense and roster to fit tebows skill set? We will see...

you're right: he should have said "you know what, guys? I made this move because the fans like Tebow. I think they're great and they're smarter than me and so I, an NFL coach, decided to make a QB switch because of what they said. because you, Broncojef, are smart and special and I need to win you over."

get over yourself.

I agree. Fox brought Tebow in to interview him during his draft a few years ago. He was at least interested enough to talk to him.

I have heard from some other people that Fox does indeed like Tebow. They told me Elway is the one who isn't in love him.

They took time in preseason to run some Tebow packages with the starting offense in training camp. They were fairly involved. I keep bringing this up and people keep ignoring it, but suffice to say they aren't starting cold and frankly, even if they were, our offense was so atrocious it wouldn't be a big deal.

I will never be able to grasp that if it's true. I guess he's just got that much of a hard-on for Luck...

it truely doesnt make sense. tebows qualities are the same ones elway had as a player...does he just not want tebow to be seen as a guy that can fill his shoes by playing similar?

Stop. Seriously.

Tebow's leadership is great, his do-anything-to-win is great. He's got ****ing LIGHT YEARS to go before he's on the same plane of existence as John Elway.

SOME of Tebow's qualities are the same. Most are not even close.

Tebow is so much better at this point of his career than Elway it's not even funny. Obviously he's not on par with Elway once Elway figured things out, but as a young inexperienced QB Tebow > Elway. So you're point kind of rings hollow.

And no this is not a claim that Tebow will be as good as, much less better than Elway. It's simply a statement of fact. Elway was terrible his first couple years in the NFL. Tebow is well ahead of him at the same point in his career.

As young, developing QBs they are very similar players. Period.

The problem is that Tebow is on our team while Luck is a pipedream. God help us if the guy running this team has his head that far up his ass...

I think he's concerned about how seriously he's being taken by his contemporaries. So many people publicly have ripped on him and in many circles he isn't considered a pro QB. Elway is one of some other former players who has come into the league. Some have completely failed and in embarrassing fashion. I think Elway doesn't want to appear as a laughing stock. Ditching Tebow and drafting Luck would make him appear to be level-headed and savvy. I'm sure he likes Luck as much as everyone else as well.

That's just my theory. I do think he knows if Tebow plays well he has everything to gain and he realizes this, but he's gone on public record distancing himself from Fox on personnel moves.
