Schefter said royal and lloyd both requested trade

Well... where are our WRs going to come from.... I really think Royal is overrated though and I wouldn't mind seeing him gone in exchange for something.

Trading both Royal and Lloyd (which won't happen) would leave what...

Decker
Matt Willis
Quan Cosby

EDIT: Royal requested? Dude's a b**** IMO... he cries every time he drops a pass. Hyper-inflated ego based on a rookie season where defenses didn't have tape on him.

Interesting from Eddie considering his quote this week, "we added a playmaker at QB."

Overall, I'm not too shocked though. I had a feeling the players were going to be pissed about the move to Tebow.

I had a feeling the players were going to be pissed about the move to Tebow.

Assuming this is the reason they're unhappy, what's the beef with Tebow? Do they think he's not going to be able to get them the ball? Or is this just a show of support for Orton? Or what? I don't get it.

Yeah, Schefter and Mort just had a newsy update on Countdown. Both LLoyd and Royal have asked to be traded...actually more interest in Royal from teams...Pats a possibility for Lloyd since he's seen better than Ocho and knows the NE system from McDaniels...also possibly the Rams for Lloyd altho they would only offer a 5th or 6th. Orton not going anywhere before trade deadline except if somebody's starting QB goes down today or monday.

Wow. I expect this from Lloyd but Royal? Is he doing this because of the Tebow change? Of all people he should be the least loyal to Orton. Orton always had the hardest time finding Royal.

And they weren't getting the ball either. For both of them to ask for a trade because Orton got benched would just be bizarre when you actually look at Orton's play.

That's why they want a trade. They would sign a new contract now and get the money six months quicker.

A little bit of both. The players were solidy behind Orton, the events of the summer made the guy a borerline mauder in the locker room. A few weeks ago I was told that if Champ, Dawk and Orton got into a 3-car crash in front of Dove Valley - the players would run to Kyle's car first to make sure he's okay. That speaks volumes.

Furthermore, players care about their numbers - 1st and foremost. And considering their lack of confidence in Tebow because of the way he looks at practice along with what they've likely gathered as McCoy's gameplanning the rest of the year (can you say 15 QB draws per game?), they're nervous about heading into freee agency with down numbers.

What has Royal done the last 3 years anyway? He has done more in the return game than anything at WR. That is when he's healthy, which is spotty at best.

With this type of production, what kind of a draft choice do you see them getting for him? It's one way or the other. Either he's a stud and you get good compensation, or he can't stay healthy and spotty at best and you get practically nothing. To me, it's the same as a lot of Maners with Orton. They said he sucks and crumbles under pressure, but wanted a 2nd round draft choice because he was a pro bowler last year. I personally think with his lack of production the last few years and the fact that he is a FA after this year, the Broncos could only get a 5th for him.

Its time for the Broncos to shed their skin and move on from their pair of Ashley Lelies in Lloyd and Royal.

The bottom line is you get whatever you can for these guys since they will not be here past this season. Even if it is a lower offer, unless you want to roll the dice with compensatory selections.

That would be my guess or some kind of production in the deal that makes it a 4th rounder if he meets certain production numbers or whatever. Royal is better as a returner than a WR IMO so that will limit his value.

The hope to get a higher pick for Orton was largely based on before the season started so teams did not know exactly what they were getting until after making the trade :~ohyah!:

It still irks me that we drafted royal over desean Jackson. I'm all for trading both and stockpiling picks to put us in a position to either get Luck or fill up all our holes. If DT comes back and stays healthy we will be ok. I see us running a bunch of 2 TE sets with Tebow at the helm.

I don't know what happened to the guy, but he seriously regressed from his first season. I'd take Lloyd over Royal any day.

Royal just can't be depended on to make a catch when you really need him too. With all the injuries and drops, I won't be missing him....

I think the FO should take what they can get for him.

Probably just gauging interest in either one, I doubt both are dealt though, but he's in the same position as Lloyd as far as contract and future status goes (last year of deal). I was so high on him that first year, but he's disappointed since. Maybe the Bears want to take a look and reunite him with Mopey?

Anyone who's anyone would say Luck. Even if Tebow is great you can trade Luck for a bounty of picks or even trade Tebow. Can't lose.

....and now they want the trade request revoked......just saying, gun jumpers.

An off topic but related - since there seems to be somewhat of a consensus that Denver is heavy in the Luck sweepstakes: wouldn't it be funny if Denver snared the #1 pick, chose Luck, and then Luck refused to go to Denver because he though Bowlen kept driving good QBs away and was a bad owner? Just sayin....

My first question was 'what is a mauder?' After thinking about it, i assume you meant martyr?

Neither of these wrs has lit it up this year anyway. I cant see them pulling orton from the wreckage thinking 'sweet, im gettin a thousand yards this year!' I certainly cant say you are wrong, but in seven years i havent seen anythinh from this guy that would cause teammates to defend his play
