The Miami Dolphins will reunite Urban Meyer, Tim Tebow and members of the 2009 National Championship Florida Gators at Sun Life Stadium on Oct. 23, during the Dolphins broadcast on Saturday.

Dolphins Chief Executive Office Mike Dee announced the plans for the Dolphins to host a reunion of the 2009 Florida Gators National Championship Team during the team's October 23 match-up with the Denver Broncos.

And, somehow, the announcement of a halftime ceremony most people won't even see, set off a firestorm in Miami.

But, Hurricane fans were calling for Stephen Ross's head at this obvious use of Broncos' quarterback Tim Tebow's popularity, as the Broncos visit that weekend, to try to sell tickets.

However, Hurricane fans ignore the fact that, the reunion was happening anyway. Tebow was going to be there. Tebow is one of the largest drawing players in the NFL right now, love him or hate him. And, Dolphins' rookie center Mike Pouncey was a member of that National Championship team as well.

Are the Dolphins simply using the opportunity to try to sell tickets? Sure. And they don't dispute that.

The only thing I want the Phins to do is take Orton and give us Starks.

Right now they're like "...We're good with Moore, bro"

I'm wondering if Fox will let Tebow come out a half time to be crowned homecoming king.

The Dolphins are done with any Orton trade talk.. you figure they are looking at getting a new head coach next season, they will have a high draft pick.. possible the #1 overall. Why bring in another QB and give up draft picks.

I have to admit I don't think I've ever seen something like this before. Pretty freaking bizarre honestly.

Does this mean the fans will be cheering more for the Broncos (or at least Tebow) than for the home team? Wow that would be crazy...

I didn't say they were going to do it or even think about it. All I said is it's what I want them to do. :)

Who cares if they are using it to sell tickets? They won't have much of a home field advantage, with everyone cheering for Tebow. They could care less about their own team...

This is a perfect deal for Teebs.

This should be the first win of the season in front of what is essentially a crowd full of adoring fans.

Awesome.

Can't wait for this game.

It's weird that it's Miami and not Jax, Phins must be desperate with that big of an FU to Da U.

Florida is a state school and has TONS of alums in the Miami area as well as all over Florida (and the greater South as well). UF is a big school.

It might be a home team crowd for Den if Fox starts Tebow ... and he better.

Maybe Jax should do the same thing and sell tickets.

ROFL!

fins are definitely desperate to sell tickets. Had 10K+ bought out by sponsors to get the last home game on tv.

Also, not really a big FU to UM, as Miami is not a large school. Lots of UF/FSU presence in south florida.

Lets just assume Miami ends up with the #1 selection. Now, the question is; do they want to develop a young QB in Luck, as good as he might be, or might they be willing to sell tickets now, get Tebow and Denvers' #1 selection (somewhere between 5 & 8th over-all), maybe a third in '12, and another 2nd in 2013?

I know, I'm just skipping' stones, but if Tebow shows flashes, that Florda connection just might be the ticket.

Good theory, but they'll take Luck. Check out their qb's since Marino retired. Fans down there are desperate for a franchise QB. They are still complaining for taking Jake Long over Matt Ryan.
