Don't get me wrong; I like the Orange Jerseys, and I will probably grow to love them. But I started rooting for the Broncos in '04, so for me(and I suspect for more than a few of us relative new guys), it'll be Blue and Orange, rather than Orange and Blue.

That said, it's nice that we're not one of the many[MANY] blue teams in the NFL.

Plus, this means there probably isn't a redesign anytime in the near future.

Hasn't this been announced, in some iteration, like, seven times now? Every time the Broncos do something terrible lately, they bring out another iteration of the orange jerseys announcement.

Broncos lose by eight TDs to Raiders!

Announcement: The team is talking about switching back to the orange jerseys!

Broncos fire McDaniels! Wishes the whole thing never happened!

Announcement: The team is getting really serious about changing to the orange jerseys!

Broncos finish 4-12!

Announcement: Broncos actually fill out paperwork to switch to orange jerseys!

Broncos coach John Fox to start Orton!

Announcement: Broncos affix postage to letter! Joe Ellis seen mailing notice informing the NFL of switch to orange jerseys!

Broncos lose another game to Raiders!

Announcement: Goodell seen opening letter about Broncos switch to orange jerseys!

Broncos give up six TDs to Aaron Rodgers in loss to Packers!

Announcement: Goodell okays Broncos switch to orange jerseys!

Broncos lose to Chargers! Fox to start Tebow - at long snapper!

Announcement: Goodell really tired of confirming Broncos switch to orange jerseys!

Stupid Mike Klis. "Burnt" orange ... really?

You actually typed the word "burnt" ... twice?

'Burnt orange' is either the Texas Longhorns' color, or the reddish-orange tint worn by the Broncos in the 1970s. We switched to the brighter orange in 78 or 79.

It only makes sense that each team in a division has a primary color that no other team in the division possesses (as a primary).

For the Raiders, it's black

For the Chargers, it's blue

For the Chiefs, it's red.

If ya ask me, thie Broncos' move to 'permanent' orange jerseys restores a bit of order to an otherwise chaotic universe. :sunshine:

Yep, seems like graphic designers are coming up with these high tech uniforms today. I believe it all started with the Broncos and that weird looking strip on the side and cutting edge logo.

Classic uniforms are awesome, and I like the ones that you mentioned. I also hate to admit that the Chiefs have a good design, and I'll choose not to admit that the Raiders also have a good design. I'd say that the Jets did a great thing by switching back to the '60s style uniforms.

It's cool to see video of the Packers and Cowboys playing back in the '60s, then seeing them playing against each other today and it's the same uniforms.

When it comes to uniforms, I'd say that less is more.

Navy should have never been changed to our primary color. I guess Bowlen needed the money that the muted color provided. I prefer the mid 60's AFL joints that we got murdered in 1994 on throwback day. Jets and Giants were right to go back to their old ones, I don't see why we can't.

I'm thinkin', had we not made the change...you'd have seen alot more of those loud colors in '97 and '98.

Sure, the change made alot of us go out and get new gear, but the old color/scheme would have had a huge bump during those years, as well.

Both points here are correct.

The Broncos were near the bottom when it came to jersey sales. Nobody wanted to wear an orange jersey at the time. But winning two Super Bowls would have changed that. And styles changed among the younger folks. Those loud colors came back in style when Mitchell and Ness throwbacks became popular about 10 or so years ago. If the Broncos had stuck with the old uniforms, coupled with winning two Super Bowls, then those jerseys would have sold like crazy.

One more point about the throwbacks becoming popular. In the '90s nobody wore an orange Broncos jersey. But when the throwbacks became popular, I'd see orange Elway, Atwater, and Mecklenburg jerseys often around LA. I'd also see the Bucs jerseys, which were really bright orange.

It's been so long since that game. I now associate it with people wearing knock off jerseys in a size 56 that looks like a dress. The real Mitchell and Ness version is still pretty bad no matter how authentic they say it is. The real deal from Wilson that they sold back then was a great looking jersey.

They were going for $800-$1000 each back in 99 and 00.
